According to LRH, less than 2% of the population is Suppressive, and only about 20% of the population is PTS. PTSness can be addressed, according to Hubbard, rather quickly and without much auditing, in most cases. SPs, on the other hand, require technical breakthroughs like SuperPower to crack their cases, or FPRD, and best if these are done in the RPF context.

The closest analog to Suppressive Person in the real world is Sociopathic Personality. (Still an SP, dammit!) Psychologists and Social Workers readily admit that these are the hardest people in the world to make any progress with, because they lack moral sense. They know what the rules are, but they feel no reason to follow them, unless it benefits them. Most Sociopaths aren't particularly cruel or evil, in terms of a desire to harm or torture them, they simply see other people as pieces on a gameboard (Hubbard, much?).

Whatever people want to CALL such persons, they do exist. I've not heard of any real technology to help such people. Perhaps one day, there will be. Until then, we'll need prisons.

I accepted the idea and used the term SP while I was in the cofs, but in the 28 plus years that I was, I could never find one person who had a majority of the SP characteristics most of the time.

In other words, Some of the people can be SPs all of the time,
and all of the people can be SPs some of the time, but not
all of the people can be SPs all the time. I think Abe Lincoln
said that!

The problem with that is that Ron defined 'SPs' and 'SP-ness' as something all of the time and just like *He* said, including bad breath apparently, no matter how much lavoris you gargle.

Now, if you were talking about the grab-bag of unpleasant traits that Ron ascribed to His 'SPs', I'd say everybody got some of them some of the time; some more than others.

But, 'Suppressive Person' is on its face a nonsense word.

I suppose being declared would really bug ya' if ya' still believed in Hubbard and Scientology, and if ya' didn't any longer...

Over on XSO most of my friends have been "declared" and we sometimes joke about it. I was bitching because I didn't get declared so one of the guys made up a cert and hung it on the wall (picture section). I couldn't be more proud being amongst all those friends.

What's worse than getting declared SP is sucking up and doing A-E, and what's worse than that is going back in. If you're really not SP, doing A-E is tantamount to a confession you are, so how are you going to ever clean up the wrongness?

Look on the bright side.... no more reg cycles, in fact Scios won't talk to you. If you want to do services, I assume in the FZ they'll clean up the False (Has anyone declared you SP when you really weren't?) or the wrong indication, upsets , betrayal, et al (then send you to their Reg). If you still want the books to read, all of them are on the internet, as well as courses

So what's the big deal?

SP Declarations

I believe I posted this here or somewhere else (or maybe I did not... an SP cannot complete a cycle of action... right?).

Early in my SO career I was working in HCO. One of the staff blew (left the org and disappeared)... He was a nice guy, worked very hard as we all did, bit of a rebel, but he blew.

We wrote up the Ethics Order noting his blow, and declaring him an SP. The whole cycle (action) took about 6 hours. We discovered he blew, wrote up the EO that morning, LRH Comm chopped it (this was the ONLY review given by ANYONE at the org), and it was printed that afternoon. Back then, these Ethics Orders were spread EVERYWHERE in the "church."

SP declares were given out "like speeding tickets at the Indianapolis 500."

We did not even try to locate him, or try to get an explanation from him.

Even back then I was amazed at how quickly someone could be declared. You could go from Upstat (outstanding/good) staff to SP within a few hours. Never made much sense to me then, or now.
