Scientology touts Faculty of Comparative Study of Religions book on Scientology.

I find it interesting that: (a) the book contains the article, "The Fertile Mind of Phillip Bennett Wearne, an Early Scientology Apostate": and (b) the book is nonetheless touted by the Church of Scientology.

EDITED TO ADD:

As first noted by Terril Park below, Eric Roux, the author of the Proscript / Postface, is the President of the Church of Scientology in France:

Recently I saw him described on the net as the
president of CO$ France. In the volume produced
by Inform in which my essay describes CO$ as dying
his says things have never been better for CO$.

Of course things have never been better for the Co$ is true , it's dying - and that is as good as it gets !

So is it's quasi counterpart, indie scn.

When 2 entities tell the same lies & promo the same non-workable crapola - is there really any difference in them ?

As first noted by Ornery on WWP, Phillip Bennett Wearne is on the Big List of Ex-Scientlogists Who Have Spoken Out:

Phillip Wearne is already on the Big List. Also deceased.

"Phillip Bennett Wearne - sued the CoS, testified in the Board of Inquiry Into Scientology"

There's a lot of info about his involvement with Scientology available online.

What, so they’re trying to brand the Scientology sci-fi roleplaying game as some kind of religion now? I know there are some Star Trek nerds who wear prosthetics and learn to speak Klingon, etc., but this is ridiculous: most Scientologists are casual gamers, not lifestyle weirdos.

This will be just like when Advanced Dungeons and Dragons went to 3rd edition: it sucked.

Do I have to create a new character now? I have accumulated a lot of Body Thetans under the old rules, and I don't want to have to start again from square one.

I can respect a tax dodge as much as anybody, but David Miscavige is going to lose like 90% of the fanbase if he can't see that Scientology works best as a game set in the 1950s: cold war paranoia, mysogyny, homophobia and untreated mental illness. This religious window-dressing is just embarrassing for everybody concerned.
