Ironically, Myles was raised Mormon in Utah. His brothers & sister were married in the Salt Lake City Temple. His father, Robert Keith Binford died in 2004, but he was a career psychologist in Utah.

I posted on his Twitter that the cult of Scientology is nothing like the Mormon Church which he was raised. He almost immediately blocked me.

Given that the SO don't even have TVs and the number of public on lines enough to follow the boycott is so small, this is going to reduce the total number of HBO viewers by what? 5?

What stance is Nation of Islam taking? HBO's success in this venture is already on veeery shakey ground with an OT 8 saying he's going to tell some mormons
not to watch it, (we'll ignore the fact that they'll probably watch it to see why they shouldn't watch it -unlike the sciscultists). Don't underestimate the power of an OT 8 Scientologist:naughty: When an OT 8 tells someone not to do something (ignoring the fact they the OT 8 could just postulate encryption to stop the movie being seen by anyone), then HCO needs to realise they have to apply their Danger formula. I hope the OT 8 doesn't ask the Moonies to boycott it too. I'm getting noivus! :nailbiting:

I think we should support the boycott...they do nothing but turn movies into cult classics (no pun intended). But hey, it'll raise viewership by millions...

If I am not mistaken the Mormons do their share of shunning too

Mormons, as a rule, have no formal shunning like the Jehovah's Witness or Scientology Inc,'s "disconnection". Any shunning that takes place is highly personal. If, for example, you were exploring Mormonism & decided it was not for you, friends of yours that are devout Mormons, who can't see you past their religion, may feel that because you rejected Mormonism, you've rejected them as friends. The same for those that have been ex-communicated from the church.

Of course, if you are an ex-communicated Mormon, you are free to go to church & participate in church activities, even though individual members may look down their noses at you. I sometimes attended Sacrament meetings (church services) in the late 90's & the members who knew I was HIV+, who were ignorant of how HIV is spread, would avoid me like the plague. The bishop (pastor) & most members, however, were very polite & accepting.
