O.K., you have put yourselves in the justice arena to judge and levy penalties on Tom Cruise.
Fair enough. Trust me when I tell you if I did not care about you, I would not be going through the effort to be sitting here at this hour when I have five hours of sleep possible before I have to wake up and start a 16 hour day. Please do not decide I am someone who deserves to be harmed attacked and suppressed because I have a different vision. That in itself is injustice.
So, you are wearing the justice hats and penalties must be levied against Tom Cruise and this Charity Organization. This event is something that requires justice. O.K.. There are scales in justice hats and prosecutor hats. This is part of the hat.
Tom Cruise is a father. Has he been a bad father or a father that dumped his parent hat?
Has he been a bad actor and let down his investors?
Has he been a drug addict or let down the members of society that have invested in him as a professional?
Has he been a bad husband, Nic stayed ten years, but we can't answer that let's be honest.
Did he stick his neck out to make a film that illustrated one man against the odds in a group with no support relying only on integrity?
Is he guilty of being in the "know" in Scientology about what the real conditions are?
Have you taken in the entire panoramic view and made just decisions about the guilty verdict and total worth and weighed all of these things and issued a fair declare as to the penalty? You are fairgaming him.
Because if you have not, you are wallowing in the same injustice you are here complaining about and that makes you the same as you reject.
Are you on higher ground? Have you raised three children, stuck your neck out in public to represent your experiences in Scientology and risen to the top of your profession? Are you in a position to judge Tom Cruise and levy penalties? Do you even know if he is in the Church since he has discovered he was secretly video taped? I don't think so.
If you have done more and risked more and are on higher ground then I would respect your whiplash on his glory for the film he made protesting mob agreement.
I guess my problem is that I just don't trust you have done all of that.
And if I am the only person on this forum with this viewpoint, well, whatever. Nobody here has walked in my shoes either. So why would you see things from my angle? And does that mean I am fairgame?
How would you feel if I showed up at your workplace because you were honest and forthright and public about your life?
How will his children be disgraced?
Do you have the scales of justice in proper order?
Be grown up and tell me why you do.
Win me over with reason.
I am easy that way.
T.O.
Wow!
Ok, let's go.
He is raising his children in a cult. That says a lot right there about his worth as a parent. What about the fact that the children have virtually no contact with their mother, according to her and that that is not her choice? Whose choice would that be and why, hmm? Talk about fair gaming on Nicole!
He has let down investors in the past, according to Sumner Redstone who fired him from Paramount for exactly that reason.
Drug addict? Well maybe not unless you consider the e-meter a drug like the Star does.
Bad husband? According to Nicole, he divorced her without a word of discussion simply saying "She knows why", on the brink of a ten year period, after which if he had divorced her he would have had to pay out more money according to California law. She suffered a miscarriage, according to her during that stressful period. Bad husband? You tell me.
Stick his neck out to make a movie? hahahahaha, tell me how he stuck his neck out because I don't even get this one at all. If you are talking about Valkyrie-he risked absolutely nothing, except losing money because it wasn't all that good.
Is he guilty of being in the know? Oh yes! Let's say exactly what he is doing, not just generally what CoS is doing.
Tom Cruise is complicit in slave labor and human trafficking allegations raised in the recent New Yorker article and being investigated by the FBI. Numerous witnesses over the years have attested to his involvement with use of Sea Org labor, which he is CURRENTLY STILL USING. These people are not paid by him and barely at all paid by their organization, at most $50/week for 16 hour days, often at hard labor.

Tom's involvement with this abuse goes back to the early 1990's:

Am I on higher ground than him? You bet your life. I am not sucking people into a soul less cult. How does "rising to the top of his profession" or anything else he is doing justify his support of slavery? That isn't even logical. He is not honest and forthright about his life; if he were he could face why he was auditioning people for the part of his wife.
I understand two points I think you are making:
-that SWC has done great work and protesting might bring them adverse publicity
-he is private citizen.
But that is just it, he isn't a private citizen. He isn't even just a random celebrity Scientologist. He is the principal propagandist for them and has personally been involved with using this slave labor force to his own ends.
As far as protesting and adverse effect on SWC, they picked him, they should be able to justify their choice to their members and the public. Any protest of him getting an award should plainly recognize that it is not an attack on their good works but on this one instance of clearly bad judgment.
