Disclaimer: None of my posts on this thread should be construed as any sort of personal attack upon Carmel Underwood, whom I deem to be a good person dedicated to a worthy cause, which is putting an end to all abuse by Co$ in Australia. These posts are made in the interest of establishing the exact truth concerning specific allegations she has made against Marty Rathbun, only.
I don't recall ANY response by Marty to what was said. If these allegations were untrue wouldn't Marty have defended himself against them and informed us of his true position with regards the Inquiry?
Shifting The Burden Of Proof Fallacy.
He who asserts must prove.
The person making the claim is the one responsible for backing it up with evidence.
Also, Marty's position regarding the Inquiry is not relevant. The as yet unsupported claim being made is that he actively interfered with it.
For starters, let's have a list of all public officials he is supposed to have contacted to dissuade them from supporting the Inquiry and what he is supposed to have said to each, which Carmel Underwood implicitly asserts knowing as she has publicly claimed Marty lied to these officials - without specifying exactly what lies were told to whom.
Conversations with public officials that directly bear on their public duties and are not matters of national security are public information in Australia, to the best of my (admittedly limited) knowledge. Therefore, there is no reasonable expectation of secrecy in such matters, so why hasn't Carmel enumerated which of the "hundreds" of officials where allegedly contacted by Rathbun so that the exact extent of this interference might be known and can be independently verified ?
If this
proof is brought to the table, then those of us who care to do so can tackle Marty on the subject with the evidence in hand.
