Something prositive about lth:

[FACETIOUS]He selflessly sacrificed his physical existence in order to research the higher OT levels so that mankind could manifest as the spiritual being that he is.[/FACETIOUS]

It's tempting to credit Ron with being a consumate con-man, who, (at least temporarily) fooled millions, made a fortune and got away. But, negating that is that Ron also fooled Himself, and, in the end, the Con/Cult he created killed Him.

Something postive about Ron? He wasn't a Spice Girl.

Just a simple observation: if it wasn't for Hubbard I wouldn't have met all the wonderful people on ESMB and made some good friends.

Clearly the whole Scn trip was organised for that very purpose, after all, it is all about me. :dieslaughing:

He had good taste in cars (if the XK sports car he was seen at the wheel of on the cover of an Advance! magazine I've seen was his).

He and his followers smoked their way through plenty of fields of tobacco and kept the tobacco farmers, cigarette companies etc. in business.

I'm too knackered to want to cross swords with Mick re his comments.

It's always about you. :eyeroll:

Actually, I'd have to grudgingly admit that you have a point. Every cloud has a silver lining and all that.

It would be nice to think that I hadn’t totally wasted the last 21 years.

Besides, that creation of Elron’s does give us something to have a good natter about. :)

Oh yes, the Jag XK150. Beautiful car. It was his alright - he liked to have nice things.

Also had a Cadillac brought over to St Hill. Not so nice and a bit big for the narrow country lanes around EG.

something "good" has come of it...

I think that being raised Scientologist turned out to be pretty great for me. I learned early that I had to be responsible for myself as my parents were at work or on staff or on course or at Flag or ASHO for many weeks at a time. Because of this early independence I have managed to become self employed at age 23 and after two and a half years or learning the ropes, I have a pretty successful business and income.

I was raised with the idea that good food and self care were all I needed and thus I rarely ever go to the western medical doctor save a broken bone, severe laceration or life threatening illness. I have only once chipped a bone and I have only had two cavities in my whole life. I have never been hospitalized and I don't take any medication.

I was raised without much of a concept of GOD and so I think that really helps for me to have a broad view of the world and an ability to understand how culture influences religion and how geography and available food sources influence culture. I don't live inside a box. My ideas about the way things are change with observation. I make those observations, no one else tells me what I should think. I think that is freedom.

Because of the study tech concept I am a pretty sharp student. Using a dictionary gets me a true understanding of concepts and my early exposure to working with modeling clay led to a love for hand building ceramic sculpture/ vessels.

I guess something good came out of my parents' involvement- I am what Scientologists are striving for. I am the ideals because I was exposed at an early age. I am the real homo novis. And I am not a scientologist. I am a human with a mind of her own and penetrating vision to boot. Yeah Ron! you fat greedy bastard.

Actually Tansy - if it wasn't for Emma - not Hubbard - you would not have had a chance to become the sun around which this solar system revolves.

Now, one good thing of course is that Hubbard died peacefully in his bed, surrounded by his friends and family, held in the loving arms of his wife...

:duh:

Let me assure you sir that I understand as well as anyone the true value of Emma and her work.

Well quite.
In case there's any ambiguity on my point of view here - I don't give a flying fuck about Hubbard any more. I think it's useful to analyse his methods of controlling people so we and others can avoid those pitfalls again. I think there is value in exposing his lies and contradictions to help those Scns in doubt come to terms with "the truth"; whatever that is.

I don't think he is of any importance whatsoever.

I freed myself of Hubbard and Scn the day I realised the planet doesn't need saving.

I have nothing good to say about him. :confused2:

Well, if I was being honest, I'd have to say that he was always very smartly dressed in all of his 'official' photos. Perhaps it was vanity. Certainly makes an interesting comparison between him and Gandhi.

He also had quite an imagination, all those fantastical stories, er anecdotes from his own life.

And let’s not forget the cojones - It takes a lot of balls to start a religion and make everyone believe all that bollocks and then keep a straight face.

There, 3 references to ‘nads in one sentence! :p

O.K.-here's my token "nice" comment about LRH.

He is no longer the most annoying redhead ever. He lost that title to Carrot Top.

the absolute highest possible good thing I can say about the fat fraud is

he is fucking dead.

Good fucking riddance.

Again, I feel the necessity to caution that such thought and "vocalization" is the sort of thing that rebounds on the originator. As a "higher" being :D , I have seen the speed with which a "motivator" can strike after an "overt".

One of the immutable laws of life, is that which you create will come to you.

Yes, if I could edit $cn out of my life, I don't believe that I would loose too many of the good things, but I know if I had not gone through the ridiculous ordeal of "Girlfriend 0" there are numerous good things in my life that would be lost as well.
