Speculation on how Ron came to rise above the bank...

That's where I left it

Yep found Dianetics and discovered Hubbard said there was a bank, found Scientology and the Sea Org and discovered a collective bank, decided I didin't like what I thought was mine so I left it to them as they seemed to be collecting them.

Judging by the condition LRH was in when he died it would be a fair assumption he didn't make it, that's if there was anything to rise above in the first place. :whistling:

Yes, I agree, Paul.
My comment regarding the stimulus-response nature of scientology and the fact that Hubbard "gave us something to mock up" is possibly insightful.
Ted, on the other hand, has turned it into a cheap joke! I'm restimulated!

He didn't rise above the bank.

See http://freezoneearth.org/Prometheus04/clearCourse/ccpack/filbert_cc.htm

"What happened on this was back on September 3, 1965, L. Ron Hubbard picked 42 people to research these materials since he insisted that he was Clear and didn't have a Reactive Mind. His had just all blown apart one day and he couldn't find the significance of it. Of course, he had a stuck needle, had trouble getting in and out of bed, and so forth, but he didn't want to talk about any of these things. Anyway, he simply issued these materials to 42 people which was not really a broad mix of society. They were not really scientific people. They started researching out the content of the Reactive Mind. So, his remarks that he rose above the Bank and never agreed to have a Bank, that are listed in a number of his works and in the bulletin "Keeping Scientology Working", are completely fraudulent."

Maybe he had been holding off on killing himself because he thought there was only one life. Taking acid he decided he was an immortal spiritual being, and a dead body wasn't the end of it. I had a similar idea when I first took acid.

You might consider it all a delusion, but "attempting to fly" isn't the only explanation for someone dying in that manner on LSD.

Paul

I never had that "I'm an immortal spiritual being" trip. I did have the "life is incredibly thrilling and I'm experiencing really unusual aspects of it" trips.

I suspect strongly that the Phoenix Lectures and the PDC era stuff were the result of a combination of amphetamines, methamphetamines and either LSD, or possibly peyote. The period where he was wearing the string tie he sounded like he was spouting medicine man wisdom, or his variant of it.

Later, he sounds more spaced out, like valium and others used to handle great fear reactions. "Yeah, man, far out, you know?"

I just wanted to hear how different people think "Ron" "came to rise above the bank". I'd like to hear your speculations.

Hmm, let's think. My theories:
  • The "ovah-tha-bank-shooters" are called drugs
  • He didn't know himself how he rose above the bank thus he didn't tell it in that text
  • He wanted to give us a freaking mystery for the rest of our lives
  • _If_ he rose above the bank then it was only temporary

there are plenty of well documented really bad true facts about Ron Hubbard and Scientology (at least the organization bearing that name), that is entirely unnecessary to just make up unprovable bullshit.
Teh Sneaksta strikes again.... and says exactly how it is. I agree.

My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.

And this suspicion is based upon what hard facts, exactly?

I would agree, too. But UM covered this with his first post

This thread is all about speculation. Take your facts to a different thread. :D

Having a "Bank" was the primary way he used to undermine your own confidence in yourself, and to undermine your confidence in others.

So of course he needs to say to you that he does NOT have a bank.

So you would have confidence in him.

CONfidence.

It's all about CONfidence.

Get it?

There is no "bank" as presented by this Hubbard fellow. To "rise" he merely used pinks, greys and rum. I think it was vistaril that was his last "rise above the bank".

Lcon's superiority complex and (often deadly) compulsion to consider himself above all others is perhaps why he came up with the idea that he 'rose above the bank'; in that case 'in his mind' he was from day one... (that he began 'seeing' the potential fruits of his ability to con in the mind improvement field) ...already 'above the bank'... which is what he went about convincing others that they had. I don't believe he is on record for admitting that he ever had a 'bank', other than the lies about resolved 'war inflicted injuries'?

So I speculate that when he says that 'he rose above the bank' that in fact this was nothing more than a self created mechanism to fulfill his fraudulent and brutal assault upon well meaning but soon to be duped followers. This could be seen as his symbolically similar... transplanted, 'Christ' identity rip off saga. As in 'he died (false mock up about his crippled/blind war 'injuries') and rose again (above the 'bank').
