You are trying to be logical and sensible about what is basically a matter of "nutty beliefs". Hubbard only PRETENDED to be in control of everything.

When DM took over, nobody questioned these things. The lemmings just accept whatever "comes down the Command Channels from INT Management". Think about this: Everyone was told that HUBBARD ASSIGNED the Broekers as "First Loyal Officers", and it was heavily implied that THEY were going to "run Scientology". Then Miscavige got rid of them, he had all the issues and copies of the event collected up (and destroyed), and he basically rewrote history. The deluded followers took it all in stride, without so much as a peep. The heavily deluded seem to question NOTHING.

Over the past 25-30 years, great work has been conducted to build up the reputation and infallibility of "INT" and RTC. The PR caper has been working constantly in THAT direction. Most of the staff and public are conditioned to accept whatever they are told from "up lines". They will continue to do so - probably. Sadly.

Remember, critical thinking skills are greatly disabled in active Scientologists. The analytical segment of the mind has been replaced by the nutty Scientology belief system. Their ability to actually question anything about Scientology has been largely nullified. They will probably continue to do what they do best - stand and clap madly at exaggerated lies, absurd claims, and nutty assertions made by noisy blowhards in fake navy uniforms.
