Super Power Opens October 6, 2013 per the Tampa Bay Times

In answer to an earlier post - does this have to do with Leah's impending book, recent defection - hell yes! Flourish and Prosper - it drives the sp's mad! With all of the negative press, "entheta" books and defections, what's a Fearless Leader to do? Out create the entheta. So the great Micro Manager has stooped to conquer, and get this sucker erect.. um, straight up and vertical. I'll bet there will be a lot that do show up, and those hotels will be at capacity. As will the motels, as they fill with anon's there to wear their[STRIKE] hats [/STRIKE] masks and suppress the event.

Hopefully it will be a circus, with photoshopping galore to troll the media with.

Of course my real question is:

Will Tony O show up for the grand [STRIKE]bamboozeling[/STRIKE] opening? Maybe Mark B can parachute in, camera rolling as DM takes the stage - what a you tube vid that would make.

They had better have the promo pics done in a room that will look to be filled up with 3,000.

So, let's say DM dies tomorrow. How do scientologists know who is now qualified to be the leader?

That would be Commander Norman "Captain Morgan" Starkey (standing).

He has the ethics presence, audience control (obvious in photo), the South African accent, and probably more importantly,
he can drink everyone else under the table. Last man standing, that is.

Whats the total number of staff and SO in the area, and in the region? How many other SO bases and orgs will need to shut up shop and send everyone there.

I wonder if they are opening it now to draw attention away from Leah's book, the deaths in Narcanon and other attacks?

Years ago I recall reading a long PL, I thought in an old OEC Vol 7. 1965 PL maybe, before the SO. The idea was to examine the statistics of senior execs, and take the one with the best long-term stats. Last time I looked I couldn't find this PL, although you wouldn't think it would be hard to find. Sigh.

There's always NOI and rentacrowd. NOI might not be on button for the southern states though. There will be scrubbed and disinfested RPFers dressed in human clothes, and maybe even some from the hole, investigation of anyone so entheta as to not want to be there would help. They will certainly struggle to get a big crowd, free food ads might get a lot in from homeless shelters I suppose, and make them look charitable. I can imagine a certain amount of press photographers might want to be there when the doors open to the gyroscope machine room. They might even get a huge mega-band there to pull in the crowds, may be even the Jive Aces! There is a chance that Tom Cruiser might be there, maybe even Wilf Smith. I wish I could be there to cheer them on.

I just love this line from one of the above articles:

"Well, even if Super Power itself is a bust, the building is a fabulous monument to Scientology excess."

Scientology excess . . . . .

That idea goes along with other appropriate adjectives for Scientology - gaudy, pretentious, superficial and loudly obnoxious.

As another mentioned earlier in this thread Scientology is like a Carnival - like a "carny". Lots of show, and lots of haughtiness.

Scientology involves such a pretentious display of materialistic concerns. And since there is just about always a contradiction in any aspect of Scientology, the interesting contradiction here is that they CLAIM to be wholly "spiritual" amidst all these gaudy materialistic displays.

A garish Scientology event portrays the pattern of what Scientology is just about in every other regard: over-the-top in terms of PR and appearances. Loud, low-class, tasteless, glitzy and endlessly pretentious. The fact that Scientology adherents continually respond with great enthusiasm to this endless stream of tawdry ornamentation is a testament to their inherent immense personal shallowness.
