How much money was spent in covering up Susan Meister's death? How much?

This is one of many deaths that niggles me repeatedly. It niggles me because it wasn't that long after I left the Apollo and i know how things were.

It is very similar to Lisa McPherson's death, because one minute we are on a high, and the next minute we are at death's door. Dead! You cannot go from one extreme to the other in a matter of days, without there being some thing that totally takes you over the edge. No way, no how.

In Ireland earlier on this year I met someone who claimed to be a nephew of Amos and Nate Jessop, he told me I had things the wrong way around - Amos was still in and Nate had left, that is totally contrary to everything written on the internet and guess what "Amos's nephew" - I don't believe it.

The funny thing about the whole event was I kept thinking he looked familiar, but I couldn't place him. After his story I thought heck, yeah I see it in his eyes. Wrong. If he was anybody's son, it would be Nate's, long time scientologist. How sad, that it should come to this. You did not fool me, maybe briefly, but you people have been playing this game of scientology for a long while and you do not fool everybody all of the time.

The father was harassed with proven phone taps, verbal threats, death threats, was offered a "cash settlement". I knew Artie Marin who was a big part of this cover up as Guardians office staff. The lies, deceit, and ugliness of all this is horribly, horribly wrong. Miscavige is only a poor follow up to the horrible evil that has gone before. Sloppy seconds who is getting all the credit for a messed up Scientology. Wrong.

Susan Meister's death was tragic, but not entirely unforeseeable. You have a boat-load of people experimenting with altering their mental processes (with the best of intentions, or at least for personal reasons) led by a charismatic, mentally ill hypnotist and criminal. All of them are kept in close proximity, and shut away from the real, outside world. Their leader distils into them his own paranoia, and they believe him. Into this toxic atmosphere of distrust, and away from the rule of law (Hubbard really loved the sense of power that came from being captain of a ship in international waters)... complete with regular overboardings, the chain locker, and a brutal RPF... add an uncontrolled firearm.

The really despicable part, though, the Scientological part: what happened after Susan Meister died (or, was killed). Scientology was inherently bad long before the Lisa McPherson manslaughter.

None of this was present on the ship at that time. The firearm was Amos Jessup's and it was in his cabin. The two of them had a 2D and so she had access to it there.

It was suicide. Why was it "obviously not" ? Ken Urqhart gave all of the background in a post of his on this subject a few years ago.

And no, the love affair had not "gone wrong" AFAIK.
