Sydney Morning Herald researching leaving scientology

Hi everyone,

My name is Ben I am a journalist with the Sydney Morning Herald in Australia. I am trying to write a story on how people go about leaving extremist groups and am interested in the practicals of how people leave. Would love to speak to anyone who may have self-deprogrammed verses those who may have had help from family and friends.

I am also interested in scientology in general in Australia and how many members the organisation has.

Would love to chat to any former Australian members.

I will avoid Chatswood as it is rife with risks ♦ generally I have been in nearly a dozen of these things and note — for your specification quoted — that we have many on boards like this whom are only interested in family recovery; We contrast this with Mission First then examine fear as control in imposition of dominance where we get into a case of Core Believers where I attended an internal-only meeting at Dallas Mission when he tried to mutiny with a variant faction; That meeting was very professional and relaxed as they even saw that I was taping and made no detractive remarks

I could sense what we call counter-intention but no coercion was used

self-deprogrammed
I did that and took an entire Decade to get over the extremist influence ~ your question reduces to Threat; Coercion; Force and mentally adept at
practicals of how people leave
Which may be studied closely in Miscavige Sr. book where I find dismay at a Marine going to such internal ( discussion ) on how to just simply blow the gate ~ that is not a common case in that they were central figures yet stories are common of PI setting up on ex-members who are critics and the interplay there is a comparative but in that situation someone sitting in driveway across the street differs from what it is like internally when in active status •••• I was at Austin on-staff and one day just did not show up for work with a no-stressor context

Generally where there is a problem we have a psycho then for being practical about leaving only individual case study does it

( strativarius the word detractive in detractive remarks is linked to a dictionary; I am sure this guy has several )

Thank you so much. I am fully aware of the meaning of the word detractive although Firefox doesn't seem to believe that the word actually exists and prefers retroactive (among other alternatives). You will need to keep on your toes though, I can be an annoying bastard when people upset me and then start mangling the English language.

My issue here and always has been is a sort of seeing which I forgot exactly how Hubbard states it but his image on a UK Publication with meter and tomatoes — central to many historical discussions — notes a seeing of something we should call ethereal — until and unless better nomenclature is made to hand ♦ I am natural at what the materials call Upper Indoc or some similar then; to their credit; I have seen those whom are past III being smooth in their interaction where I am calling it ethereal + once I even mentioned to an assembled set of 4 whom were all past III that I would no longer interact with anyone who was not a III or above ♦ Recently I was able to read all of that thanks to Chuck and found absolutely nothing that was in any way something that I had not considered earlier — other than a very few nuances in choice of words — and remain in wonderment how so many of their group can be participants that we call Whales in this sort of discussion

Maybe MV Freewinds is a whaling vessel ?????

Note for Mr. Weir - the use of diamonds and other widgets is grammatical punctuation as I find the use of dot as sentence terminator and separator is disappearing for my screen settings with my most common being «—» ←journalism and printing will have a typeset name for that & should be used as a separator ••• strativarius may note a run-on style which has to be discombobulated by separating individual phrases as partially stand-alone thoughts

@ben2401, that should be versus.

Strat, how did you miss this?
Unless I'm pulling somebody's leg (like Leland's for example) I generally just let typo's and spelling mistakes go - up until the person does something to piss me off, then I feel I am at liberty to steam in every time I see a mistake. Otherwise I'd be doing nothing other than pulling people up all day, and how tedious that would become for all concerned, besides, the guy is a newbie and I don't want to get on his case from the get-go.

I must advise caution here — did you look at his work on SMH?

Due to extensive use of acronyms in our practice I will clarify for others — here — that I Can't Dance

An ICD is an Intensive Care Device • which is likely being used on the Escort • whom was stabbed at ANZO • removing a Real Trouble Maker

SMH is Sydney Morning Herald

Harold is an associate in TN

Harold is Decedent

He drank himself to death

The OP is an authorized Media Operative

What if he is pulling our leg?

The Asean whom took down the Escort at ANZO may be in with him

If so and you have the assailant leg show up packed in Dry Ice don't stare in wonderment as PR Int would not hesitate to put it on you

Hi Ben, :welcome2: Welcome to ESMB!

Please ignore the troll above, Nicholas Jordan, who joined here to write gibberish and has apparently already been banned.

There are a lot of Australian ex-scientologists here and some other ex-cult members, too, and I imagine they would make contact by private message on this Board or by emailing you directly. They are a great group but already have some media contacts in Australia who have worked with them for years so please don't take it personally if you don't hear back from them right away.

Please feel free to post any questions you may have where we can help clarify some of Scientology's actions for you.
