take something positive from your experience and leave anything bad

The belief in one's own spiritual nature was worth it all.

Depends on what one experienced. I'm very sure there are a lot of people who would disagree with you and who would have valid reasons for so doing.

Your statement also implies that there would have been no other way for the person to believe in his or her spiritual nature, were it not for Scn. That is a fallacy.

Good Things I Learned in Scientology:

How to fix wood
How to remove carpet stains
Generally anything about relatively ecofriendly cleaning I learned on Staff
How to fix locks and keys
How to cook off of leftovers
How to combine colours together
How to use graphics design software
How to be nice to people when asking questions
(for survey and auditing - though the latter isn't important to me anymore the former is useful in my field)
How to ask people for money and favours (also useful in my current field)
How to organize on the fly

I think that's it (or at least the things that don't identify me to CoS lurkers)...

Bad Things I Learned in Scientology:

The idea that anyone is a spirit or can live forever - I believed it before Scientology but it was Scientology that made such a idiotic posit stick for so long!

It seems to me all religions are some level of bullshit, some more harmful than others. However I'm all for freedom to pick your poison.

The modern medical sciences lets us live more than long enough, maybe Transhumanism will happen and some might pay to live forever if/when that happens. While I'd pay for some "extension" and the ability to leave on my own terms - I don't think I want to live forever, at least not through myself. I'd like to live forever through others (children, works of art/science, etc.) so that's what I aim for. I've learned to be comfortable with the idea of death has made it so that I'm finally willing to try and experience things and to really live!

The belief in one's own spiritual nature was worth it all.

When I first got involved, I didn't intend to get involved, nor was I seeking anything spiritual. I only read dianetics and thus only wanted to be a "clear". I thought it was a science and was verified as being a science of the mind with stated results as stated in that book.

So, in my view, what the fuk are you talking about????????

I fell in love with Tommy Davis and the bitch rejected me? Most critics thinks that's a good thing.

I don't. I feel deprived. It would've been pretty funny to see the cult spokehole offloaded for having a gay relationship with a declared SP. Oh, the entertainment value....

I think that's one of the things that kills me is when folks talk about how wonderful their Scio experience was because they learned they were a spiritual being. Pretty much everyone I knew that was one of the 'good guys' got INTO Scientology because they felt that way. And, honestly, the huge majority of those I met who got into Scio were good guys, although a lot of them turned into jerks. If that's your big win, damn I feel sorry for ya. You could get that in a much less painful way. (in general, not in response to the op, because :eyeroll:)
