And your opinion is based on what?

That makes no sense, Veda. I only posted the DICKtionary definition of "standard" and said we used to Chinese drill it.

The only weasel here is the guy trying to weasel out of giving us his better definition of the words Scientologist and Standard.
I'm busy now, but in a few hours' time I'll point out the difficulties of defining "Scientologist." It's in an earlier thread somewhere on ESMB.
Those who subscribe to the silly idea that a Scientology 'Standard Tech exists', should be able to point to an accepted technical standard that is clear, unambiguous and accurate.
Would one of them care to do so?
Without such, the idea of a Scientology 'Standard Tech' is *pure* nonsense.
Technical Standard.
"A technical standard is an established norm or requirement about technical systems. It is usually a formal document that establishes uniform engineering or technical criteria, methods, processes and practices."

Sacré bleu! I'll think I'll just continue to call him Iffy Mike. He might want peeps to stop thinking of the old name, but it will probably take years to go away, if it ever does.
Maybe he'll change the name to try and cash in on the next movement anyway. How about IFAP: Independent Freezone Association of Professionals?

Another problem is that the various branches of the Cult of Scientology/Hubbard have different versions of what they each call 'Standard Tech'.
The Cof$ Cult's version of 'Standard Tech' is mostly based on Hubbard's writings, but at the bottom line it's whatever Miscavige says it is. There's a nod there at your mention of what an F/N is. The Cof$ is insane.
The Free Zone Ron's Organ's Cultists base their version of 'Standard Tech' on Hubbard's writings, and also on Captain Bill's. The Free Zone is very insane.
Marty Rathbun's Ra Ra Ron Club Cultists might have a version of their own too, but that can't be established for sure, because all they do is get teary eyed about 'Standard Tech' without ever saying what it is. This group is also insane.
There is another group called the Freezone, but we don't know what they believe, because they say they don't exist anymore, and have changed their name to ABSPLIG. Seems mental.
There is another variety of standard tech that is being over looked. That is the difference between what is taught on course and what is done in the HGC. Though I have never done an internship, I have noticed in reading PC folders, that there is a definite difference, and it seems to me to be on assignment of importances. They would take some line from some HCOB and it was really important to the pro auditors, but in reading the course pack you would have no idea of it's worth. I wish I could think of a clear example.
Actually - standard tech and its apparent variations, conforms exactly to what we were taught in Scientology: What is real for you is real. So you could add this definition: 7) A person who believes his version of Scientology is correct, and applies it as he or she sees fit, whether or not anyone else agrees with him.
Example - I had a friend who bought the tech vols at a thrift shop for next to nothing and had decided to do the purif solo in the sauna at the Y as soon as he saved up enough for the membership. So he was reading the vols to see how it was to be done. He considered he was going to be doing it by the book. I have no idea if he ever carried through with it.

What dictionary is that? I'd like to see it.
This discussion is about Scientology, and you gave me the Scientology weasel-wordy definition, a definition that does not reflect reality, any more than the "Think for yourself" sign in front of an Org reflects reality, or the PR 'Creed of the Church' reflects reality.
Scientologist: A participant in L Ron Hubbard's vanity-fuelled, status-based Fantasy Role Playing Game known as Scientology. Notable Scientologists include Rex Fowler, Charles Manson, David Miscavige, Kendrick Moxon, and Terril Park.

'Standard Tech' is also a simple advertising slogan, much like "Man's best friend", or "Beans means Heinz". it's about brand loyalty and market share. In the advertising industry they even call it 'Mind Share.'
Mind Share.
