Thank Gawd!!! However, puleeze bake the fruitcake thoroughly...The half baked ones we periodically get served here are gooey, doughy and some of Us are prone to choke and gag on them and get upset tummies.
All good Face, please don't worry. I may look a bit dozey (& it is true I can act dozey, often) but fruit cakes are my specialty. When I serve this cake it will be thoroughly baked! It is all about how the ingredients are put together; the mixing technique (never over-stir a fruit cake batter), and of course as you mention, how long you cook it for.
