The Core of the Dianetics Con

Of course it is Arnie.

When I started reading the Marketing & PR series because I wanted my own business, I thought to read these Policy Letters so as to start my own business. When I read them, I then somehow realized Scientology was using the PR & Marketing Series Policy letters on scientology members. Lights went off in my head. You know, when you know the tactics being used, you can not fall victim to the tactics.
Who ELSE were they going to use them on? The PR & Marketing Series EXISTS for the purpose of extracting as much money from the public as possible. Any other use is secondary.

Never trust anyone who has something to sell.

At its core is the reworked idea of a conscious and subconcious mind.

Hubbard takes this idea and renames it analytical and reactive and presents
the idea that if the reactive were reduced to 0 what would be left would
be the analytical and a new state he called Clear.

It's bullshit but I told it to make this next point.

He also posits that the reactive mind is some sort genetic holdover
that is no longer needed and has lost its usefulness so that in ridding
yourself of it nothing is lost.

Here's the rub this so called useless mind is in actual fact what
is commonly known as gut instinct a very useful safeguard
against clever cons, and yes this could be said to be critical thinking skills
but its bit lower than that and is more a feeling than a thinking.

So whenever that nagging little hunch came up
that something was fishy or kinda weird, it was told to the PC or newbie
that was just your "Reactive Mind" so don't listen to that and go ahead
get that mortgage on your house:duh: its your reactive mind and not your
common sense or gut sense thats trying to stop you, no HE&R.

So effectively from the heart down you've been disarmed
and your wallet or purse is ripe for the picking. $$$$$$

This is a very interesting point.
Working on the basis of two types of mind, one bad one good you negate one completely and end up with half a person. Scientologists have no soul. You wake them up in the middle of the night to send them to a different continent and they are unable to react with gut feelings, but just do what they are told. You end up with two people having a 2D, there is no relationship, no fluttering hearts, no eye gazing, just a contract which is broken when one 'partner' goes 'out ethics'.

Scientologists have souls like any human being, but they are cut off at the solar plexus which is say the seat of persona
they are told they are powerful and big beings theetans and homo novis and anything that threatens that idea is suppressive
evil and invalidates them and their goals etc etc.

yeah a 2D is a contractual thing and has no heart no intimacy no real support because it can all be yanked on the basis of
your not a ("Scientologist" persona) so I can't have intimate contact with you or support you.:omg:

dig deep enough under that steely dedicated persona and you find a decent human being as is proved
everytime someone exits the mindfuck they begin to regain their compassion and humanity and vitality:heartflower:

Arnie,

you wrote earlier that, 'Hubbard was found guilty of check kiting in...'

What is "check kiting?"

Your post on Sargant got me looking if there is a library archive of his somewhere.
There is, in London.
I'd be digging through that in a heartbeat, if I lived there.

Fraud.

Check kiting is a form of check fraud...

...Kiting is commonly defined as intentionally writing a check for a value greater than the account balance from an account in one bank, then writing a check from another account in another bank, also with non-sufficient funds, with the second check serving to cover the non-existent funds from the first account...
