I thought Flashy was a dude? I'm SO confused now! :confused2:

Need more candy...:bigcry:

Yuh, well, ya know, being single and old and all that stuff, ya know? I realized that I can't be that picky anymore... Ya know? It's like ... well ... a poor dog is thankful for every bone, ya know?

I just adore men with serial-killers'-dream workshops, it just does it for me.

How about a woman with a serial-killers'-workshop?

I love tools. Got a circular saw, saw bench, jig-saw, 3 drills, 3 or 4 sanders, grinder, etc. My electric plane got pinched tho'.
Maybe I could team up with someone on the internet who's got one!

Plane like in airplane? Because I have a friend who builds and repairs those. He doesn't speak English, though.

No dummy! An electric wood-working plane! And Kutta is a 'she'! Talk about sexism!

Okay this thread is now about tools. Not the Flashy kind of tools.

I have the best Dremel tool money can buy. I'm getting a belt sander for Christmas. Oh how I love the smell of sawdust in the morning!:happydance:

I think he means the wood-plane type. But, do you know all the interesting things you can do with a MIG welder?

Zinj

I surely don't know all the things that can be done with a MIG welder, but I could an did operate one, way back when I was in better shape. Today my hands are too clumsy for precision stuff.

@Kutta: Do you have a link or a PIC of such a plane?

EDIT
Oh, maybe you mean the electric version of this?

If so, I have some of those, although no electric one anymore...

Of course, if you have hand problems you'd want the table version, but, then you need a tablesaw to cut down on wide loads.

The smell of sawdust in the morning? Oh the memories! I grew up with that stuff. About your Dremel tool: I'm planning to build a mini-circular saw next, for cutting PCBs. This I need to get my "build your own CNC milling machine" project going. It will look approximately like this, only smaller, because I mainly want to use it to automatically shape and drill circuit boards.

Tool and Skills, doesn't get better than that!

Say---Just what part of the country are you at??? 'Cause I got some home improvement projects that sure could use someone handy with tools! :p

My electric plane that was pinched was a bit like the yellow one on Zinj's post, but it was more refined and pro' looking, a Makita brand, as are most of my tools. Yeah, and I love the smell of sawdust, and glue, and paint, and the feel of power in my hands. I love ladders too, and old working clothes, pants and shirt/jacket, cap, and boots! And the feel and look of a nicely finished product. Hey I'm getting carried away here.

A woman with a serial-killer-like wood shop, tools and all.

Would she be named Dexie by any chance?

Makita, huh? You can't be a beginner if you have those :)
Did you try to open it and clean the mechanics inside?
Are the bearings still intact?

No no, don't stop! I love it when you talk dirty. Re: the smell of paint: When I was working as a lacquerer (is that a word?) and had to lacquer stuff with Nitrocellulose lacquers 8h/day, I often took off my breath protection, because it was an uncomfortable peace of crap. Man, I was quite stoned some days when I came home from work. But I love the smell of glue too, especially hide glue.

Sorry sweetness, I'm a bit far away in NZ. Mr Nobody: No I wouldn't have a clue how to open and clean the mechanics. I do take stuff to the Makita dealer to do a recondition if things don't seem to be working A1. I am not so good always with masks, goggles, or ear muffs either, but I should be. Naughty, Naughty!
