The question is... Does she need it?

Well actually, the question is more far-reaching. Does Ellen need it? Does the rest of her guests need it? Does $cientology need it (cosmetic touch-up that is)? Does Admiral Davey need it? Does Marty R. and Mikey R. need it when they do their KSW videos and photo ops? We all try to put our best foot(feet) forward ... egos and otherwise I'm a think'n.

Reah did a great job (service) today. My first reaction was she could have let loose big time today on this prime media platform re: $cn. However her measured response was just right IMHO, bringing MORE focus on the cult's unsavory issues... like ~disconnection.~ ...yet another building block.

Did anyone catch The Ellen show today?

Here's an article with a short video clip:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/leah-remini-ellen-i-lost-624672

I freaking don't have TV in my space--I'd have to pay the cable dude to get it wired up to my space where I'm living, and I feel like I fry my brain enough hours with the net and Netflix, but I'm hoping to hell someone can post the full interview. I'm kind of breaking down and thinking I should get the cable guy over here... ugh. I hate myself a bit for that....

At first I was disappointed I didn't catch the full episode either, but from reading the article and watching the clip that may be all of it that was Scientology related that they spoke about. Not sure though.

The worst thing Leah could do right now is get into a humongous slap fight with DM and the CO$. One understated bit of credibility at a time will solidify her reputation as a level-headed critic, until she is ready to open up with both barrels. Let the coming raft of lawsuits come to a head, and then any attacks on her as a bitter apostate will look even less credible.

There is plenty of time, and all the reason in the world to have a well-researched, fact-checked book, rather than a quick and easy shot.

Oh my but that was my favorite part :bigcry:

Perhaps in some ways it would not be so terribly lonely if only more people leaving who have lost friends and loved ones to scientology knew that in us they have new friends and loved ones who are there for them. :console:

Stay strong! It is such a waste of money, and a total time suck. I have been arranging things, working toward getting rid of cable because you can get almost everything without it. A decent antenna will get you the local channels, youtube has pretty much every clip you want, netflix and hulu have tv shows, and if your internet kung fu skills are strong, you can get lots of current tv shows from www.projectfree.tv.

Yes, this.

I do have cable becaues I live in the woods and ISDN lines don't come out here - it's the only way to get broadband. But the cable is not hooked to my TV set, and has only been once - during the Olympics. (Not that it came in handy that time, either - NBC's coverage was so sucktacular that I got a UK proxy service and watched the streaming video from the BBC).

Life is too short for second rate art. Cull out the good stuff on Netflix, and let the advertisers spend money on other people.

The interesting thing is it was really Ellen who led that exchange along by asking the questions that allowed leah to expose Disconnection.

Dave had better realize that Leah comes from a heritage that is all too familiar with his tactics and could match them quite easily.

They are familiar with the legal system as well and may want to "settle" out of court to avoid messy litigation and legal costs and I doubt Leah would even have to ask or know where that help came from.

Write your book Leah, you have friends.

I agree.

And a more fundamental issue....

Does she want to spend her life being "the celeb who fought COS"?

Or does she want to go on with her life and develop her career?

I know no one wants to hear this, but, IMO, she's done enough already.

If I were her, I would let it go, and work like hell to be very successful as an actress.

That's one thing I agree with that I remember from Scientology.

"The best way to fight suppression is to flourish and prosper."

If she fucks up and goes down at this point because she becomes too involved with fighting this fight, in perspective it will be "she started going downhill after she left the church".

Sorry to say this, but any involvement with Scientology, whether you are with it or against it, doesn't help you with success in life. I was thinking about this when I drove to work today.

Most people who have actually done well in the "wog world" after getting out don't put a whole lot of time into dealing with the issue one way or the other. They just drive back onto the life freeway and get into the fast lane.

Like I said. Not something most people want to hear.

I think the book MIGHT be therapeutic for her just in the sense of getting it all out of her head. Then be done and continue to move on like she has.

It would be really easy to throw up Jenna Elfman's bangin' career (since Dharma) should Leah not flourish as much as she did as an scner
