Jenna Elfman stated:
AIDS is a state of mind, and not a disease.

Radar Report: Hollywood Rumors, Gossip and Lawsuits Waiting to Happen
12/14/99

DHARMA DOESN'T HAVE VERY GOOD KARMA From this moment on, Jenna Elfman shall be known as the Grinch who stole Christmas. During the last holiday season, the Dharma & Greg star refused to take part in a celebrity autograph auction for an organization that raised money for the care of children with HIV. As a brainwashed devotee of The Church of Scientology, the bah-humbugy Elfman stated that she couldn't support any organization that raised money for AIDS research or relief because "AIDS is a state of mind, not a disease." Get over it! They're babies, for Buddha's sake!! (or should we say "for Xenu's sake" -- in honor of her wacky alien leader/god?).

Ironically, Scientology megacelebs Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and John Travolta all donated autographs for the same auction. One word of advice, Jenna: Watch out for the ghost of Christmas past.

Did she really say that? I don't know, but she was reported to have done so and Co$/scientology 'dogma' espouses the 'you pulled it in' theory for illness/disease. As always, YMMV.

She did more to expose Disconnection in under two minutes than years of talking about it.
oh fuck... that clip was just amazing. It is only sad, in that it took this many years and someone famous leaving in order for this sort of thing to really "show up".

I think the book MIGHT be therapeutic for her just in the sense of getting it all out of her head. Then be done and continue to move on like she has.

It would be really easy to throw up Jenna Elfman's bangin' career (since Dharma) should Leah not flourish as much as she did as an scner

Theraputic for her?

Or for us?

Hate to say it, because I'm so not-a-fan, but the most stellar success-after-Scientology actor there is is Nicole Kidman.

Who never said a fucking word about it. She just drove on.

I agree.

And a more fundamental issue....

Does she want to spend her life being "the celeb who fought COS"?

Or does she want to go on with her life and develop her career?

I know no one wants to hear this, but, IMO, she's done enough already.

If I were her, I would let it go, and work like hell to be very successful as an actress.

That's one thing I agree with that I remember from Scientology.

"The best way to fight suppression is to flourish and prosper."

If she fucks up and goes down at this point because she becomes too involved with fighting this fight, in perspective it will be "she started going downhill after she left the church".

Sorry to say this, but any involvement with Scientology, whether you are with it or against it, doesn't help you with success in life. I was thinking about this when I drove to work today.

Most people who have actually done well in the "wog world" after getting out don't put a whole lot of time into dealing with the issue one way or the other. They just drive back onto the life freeway and get into the fast lane.

Like I said. Not something most people want to hear.
Whatever a person decides to do, they have to do what they think is RIGHT.

Not quite "apples with apples" though Lulu Belle. Kidman had children involved whereas Leah, as far as I understand it, has her family intact. We may never know the reason(s) for Kidman's silence but it would be a fairly good guess it is somehow related to disconnection.

I don't want to drive this way off topic....but there's a whole lot out there on this message board and OCMB on this subject.

Bottom line: Kidman decided her priorities early on.

And it didn't appear to be her kids, who were essentially raised in Scientology by Tom.

She looked after Number One.

Damn, she wears a LOT of makeup.

Almost every gal/girl/woman I know from that area in NY also wears too much makeup. I've never seen any of them without it so I can't say whether they "need it" or not-----Leah is a beautiful woman & I bet she'd look just as good without it. Maybe it's a security blanket, who knows.........

When I talk to foreigners who say they've been to the US and then tell me they've only been to NY, I tell them "NY is not America".

In sooooo many ways, despite being the quintessential American city.

I've spent 25 years in New York and still have a soft spot in my heart for it. But I've moved on ... and on ... and on ... .

Leah may be from New York, but when I knew her she was still a teenager and she lived in California.

I pretty much thought she lived around LA most of her life. I could be wrong.
