The Ex-Scientologist Message Board Will Be Preserved on the Internet Forever

Lulu Belle, You can't expect everybody to act the same way - he is what he is - if you don't like what he has to say, don't read him, no matter how cur like he may post. Isn't that what TR 0 bull bait for? :hysterical:

Well no, it’s just that I’m allowed to have an option too. Doesn’t mean you can’t disagree. Sometimes I get sick of biting my tongue and playing peace maker. I don’t expect “compliance”. I hope you know what I’m saying here.
I don't know if I do. I objected to this self-important thread when it first appeared but didn't say anything. Later I added an opinion, as did others, including you. Now this thread represents the reality of the past few weeks on ESMB. You want open discussion of anything -- a perfectly valid view, especially for you with the constraints you had been under here -- and some object to the way Alanzo has been posting. You see him differently, which I understand.

I don't know what compliance you mean. We have a difference of opinion. It's really not that big of a deal. You're the umpire here, and I accept your decision, hopefully not too ungracefully.

I mean just because I say that I don’t like something or a post it doesn’t mean everyone else has to fall in line with my way of thinking. That’s all.
This is kind a moot point now with the board getting close to shutting down, but I believe it would be helpful for you to have two separate accounts. One from which you just post as yourself, expressing your opinion like anyone else, and another from which you post as the Admin, where you're carrying a big stick you can whack someone upside the head with. Just my 2¢

Maybe for a future forum.

It wasn't supposed to be funny. It's clear no matter what Al does it will be perceived in the worst possible light. Just feels quite icky. There was clearly no malice in the OP of this thread.
For me, I probably do tend to perceive his postings in the worst possible light. But that only started after many attempts to engage him in a reasonable and civil discussion.

Al would without exception ignore reasonable questions I directed at him (relevant to what he posted) , or counter with either straw-man arguments, red herrings, or ad hom directed towards me. He did the same towards some other members as well.

And because of all that and much more that I won't detail in this particular post, I came to the conclusion he wasn't here for the purpose of engaging us in an honest discussion.

It's natural for most all people, if they get bit by the same dog 2 or 3 times to have a strong distrust for that particular dog. A few instances of that dog acting normal won't be enough to alleviate that distrust. And that is all that's happening here IMO.

Yes.

I've never had children, but I've heard it's best to ignore their spoiled little tantrums.

Not so. Best to explain to them why it's not acceptable and to let actions have consequences. For instance, if my son is having a tantrum we go home. Instantly. Period. Worked wonders. Its also really important to listen and understand why he is having a go and act accordingly. Ignoring a child is rarely good parenting.

That does sound like good parenting!

How would you handle the spoiled little children in this thread, then?

Ok, since you asked....

I am in no position to define anyone in this thread as either spoiled or as a child.

I would ask you to apologize to Karen though, since one of your previous "criticism" was a direct personal slur. That was childish.

then I would simply use comedy, in full flavor! I present to you!!!

All the spoiled little children in this little ESMB clique have to grow up now.

They have to allow criticisms of themselves on this board, new viewpoints from different Exes who don't agree with them, and ideas that they have been blocking out (and hypocritically trashing) for years which are based on the experiences of Exes who are not them.

It's hard for them.

I understand.

Not shure that you do, but yeah, in essence that's the gist of it, apart from the fact that a clear majority of the people on this board already did that before you came around and said that they had to.

See? no one has to agree with your criticism, being respectful to you as an individual is in itself all you can ask for from another individual. By calling people childish, spoiled, ninnies and what not, you are making that hard.

It's a forum Al, not a classroom. Act accordingly.

Sorry He-man. With all due and considerable respect I have for you, if I "behaved" in the way so many people have tried to order me to "behave" - in the way they wanted me to "behave" - I would never have been able to do, or learn, even half of what I've been able to in the 20 years I've been out of Scientology, and the 4 or 5 years I've been out of Anti-Scientology.

I'll consider your request, as always, but you should brace yourself for my flagrant non-compliance of it, as well, when I think it's best.

The fact is that this is NOT out of self-importance that I created this meme and put it here and on all my accounts on social media. I created this meme because this is a very important accomplishment for Ex-Scientology.

David Miscavige will NEVER be able to take down ESMB.

That is what is important here.

You do as you wish, but I would advice you that charisma and form goes a long way. In some cases even further then the actual message.

This will always be my meme. :bleh:
