THE EX-SCIENTOLOGIST: SP or Messiah

SP (Suppressive Person) - those which… specialize in injuring or killing persons or damaging their cases or which advocate suppression of mankind. (HCO PL 29 Jun 68)

…A person who suppresses other people in his vicinity. A suppressive person will goof up or vilify any effort to help anybody and particularly knife with violence anything calculated to make human beings more powerful or more intelligent. The whole rationale of the suppressive person (SP) is built on the belief that if anyone got better, the SP would be for it as the others could overcome him then. He is fighting a battle he once fought and never stopped fighting. He is in an incident. Present time people are mistaken by him for past, long-gone enemies. Therefore, he never really knows what he is fighting in present time, so just fights.

…Those who are destructively antisocial. (HCO PL 30 Aug 70)

…A person with certain behavior characteristics and who suppresses other people in his vicinity and those other people when he suppresses them become PTS or potential trouble sources. (SH Spec 78, 6608C25)

Later changed to:

A SUPPRESSIVE PERSON or GROUP is one that actively seeks, by action or statement, to suppress or damage Scientology or a Scientologist by Suppressive Acts.

SUPPRESSIVE ACTS are acts calculated to impede or destroy Scientology or a Scientologist in his studies or counseling, or to affect adversely his well-being." (HCO PL 16 May 80 II)
MESSIAH - One who is anticipated as, regarded as, or professes to be a savior or liberator.

Now, of those who are truly interested in or actively opposing Scientology, the largest percentage can be seen to be made up of Ex-Scientologists. Who else would really give a hoot!

The Church and its members would have it explained in this way:
Firstly, why would anyone ever dream of leaving a group that was offering you the only hope you will ever have for total spiritual freedom?

Overts!

A person blows or leaves only because of overts against the person or group being blown from. In an effort to protect that group or person from further harm, the individual leaves. This is because man is basically good.

These overts stemmed from Misunderstood Words following the law of the 2nd Phenomenon.

Once blown, the leaving individual now finds it so necessary to justify such a crazy act of departure that they completely turn on Scientology like a rabid dog and go to town doing their damndest to “suppress” it. Their declaration of the, now realized, evilness of the Church the very excuse they need to make their leaving completely justified.

That they then continue to commit suppressive overts (trying to get their friends and family out of the Church, protesting, posting Church secrets on internet message boards, looking at OT data, reading books about the “True Life” of L. Ron Hubbard, etc.) is totally expected and further galvanizes the groups opinion of the blown, now declared suppressive, person.

They are obviously SPs and are declare as such.

It is almost impossible for the Scientologist (or one still subscribing to Scientology doctrine) to see this ex-scientologist in any other light. From their viewpoint there is no other plausible explanation. And they are looked upon as traitors and disaffecters. SPs to be feared and avoided.

For someone on the outside, or one who has left the Church, a very different viewpoint is experienced:

While still on lines or on staff, the scientologist begins noticing outpoints. Firstly in the form of discrepancies between how the org is run, or what people in churched are doing, and LRH Tech or Policy. Then with Church Management, or the Sea Org, and the way they operate (basically the ends justify ANY means). Then with the Tech itself, if one has taken the time to GET TRAINED and spent countless hours, even years, wading through tomes of anecdotal nonsense and “clearing” thousands upon thousands of words just to boil it all down to a handful of usable and useful information. Here the Scientologist begins to find incongruities, Tech that is “old” versus Tech that is more recent (look at O/W or Confessional Tech or Ruds and Prepchecking), many different areas of Tech explaining the same phenomenon, Tech just not working as it is supposed to despite every standard handling, etc. Then of course there is the GAT (out KSW alteration of Training) and The Basics, off policy alteration of and destruction of Source materials.

The next step would then be applying what one knows of Scientology to these outpoints and finding that there are NO sensible explanations for any of it that don’t create further outpoints. One starts asking or reporting and is only confronted with ethics handlings or OSA Dead Agenting, none of which actually handles the presence of serious outpoints.

All this leads to DISAFFECTION! A label bandied around to explain anyone who has become aware of and is now talking about the outpoints.

From here it gets rather ugly and the individual, having lost faith in the Church and/or Tech decides to leave and either gets put through the “routing out” nightmare or simply picks themselves up and removes themselves from the org and all contact with it.

At this point, if not already, the dearly departed musters up the courage to confront that which has been denied them during their involvement in the Church, THE INTERNET. Where they discover an overwhelming viewpoint supported by overwhelming evidence that the Church they thought had been freeing them was actually enslaving them, and they were merrily pay through the nose for it. They were actually working for the very SPs they thought they were fighting!

This is about the time they profess themselves to be a messiah and take up a personal vendetta to see the place burn and rescue as many survivors in the process. And thank god for the internet, the provider of free communication, the universal solvent that will wash away the lies and deceit that keep so many trapped (well, not that many really!).

For those who haven’t yet escape the mental prison called Scientology, I would invite them to consider this: All of Scientology is centered around a very effective marketing companion to make you desperately want to 1) Go OT – travel the Bridge to Total Freedom and 2) pay huge amounts of money in the process, despite not being able to afford to or 3) devote yourself to full time employment (but contracted as a volunteer?) with no remuneration for 2 ½ to 30 years (or a billion for that matter) in an organization that takes everything you do for granted and still expects more and punishes you when you don’t give it, couched in a planetary salvation operation to rival any other in the history of the universe, where in fact the whole destiny of the universe is at stake!

Now all this would be fine, IF IT WERE TRUE! But if it’s not…

Have you met a real OT, a real CLEAR, someone who you could honestly say, “Wow, that’s what I want to be like!”? How much of what you want has been implanted in you by the Church Marketing Machine and Ron’s rantings. Would you really be in a better position to live your life if you didn’t need a body, and who do you know that has lived this way?

There are many more questions of this nature one could ask themselves if wondering about the validity of their involvement with and commitment to Scientology.

I wish everyone the freedom of mind to think for themselves and act accordingly. To be TRULY free!

Until relatively recently, ex-scientologists were a small percentage of those opposing Scientology. Nowdays, they're an even smaller percentage, although, their numbers have increased a thousand fold.

Thanks to Anon, the number of Scientology opponents has swelled beyond all count.

All of us; non and ex together welcome them :)
But; *Scientologists* have *never* been the bulk of the anti-Scientology community. As many exes as there are, Scientology is just far too small.

And on and on and on and on.

Without information from Scientologists, none of this would have been possible, but, Scientology was not and won't be freed from within but by the efforts of socially conscious people willing to risk their own lives and well being for the common good and the bravery of escaping Scientologists who gave them the information to do so.

Well Zinjifar,

I certainly don't mean to tread on the toes of anyone supporting the cause and sincerely hope you are right.

And of course, A large external movement is what it will take, but don't underestimate the power of dwindling numbers. Org's require a hell of a lot of posts to be filled to even operate at all, given the complexity of the Tech.
I think were they need to be hit the hardest is in the pipelines already and if successful they simply won't be able to afford to exist.

This is a fantastic Post and I encourage you to post more as this is hard hitting and gives insight to the so called cause. Thanks for posting.
