I've gotten only about 5 calls recently that I know about, although the incoming phone they have doesn't have a number recorder. Telling the first caller not to call again made no difference. The last time I told her I have left Scientology and don't care who knows it. So far, no call backs.

They don't have my phone number any more but they do email me asking for it.

One time, a few days before an event, I was getting phoned up literally every 5 minutes but I was not answering.

I was not confirmed so I was on the 'keep calling' list.

But even if you said you were coming they still kept phoning! (but they got wise to that one and people who did that started to be dealt with by ethics).

I was still in at the time but I didn't like those events and I didn't like getting badgered about them.

Sandygirl, Can you block the number for your in-laws? I know there are ways to do this. You might call the org or orgs and tell them if they ever call again you are going to file a harassment complaint, and that includes the relatives.

You'd have to block all their numbers, because they send phone and mailing lists all over to carpet bomb the field.

My wife got a call from overseas trying to sell the basics set, and she's been declared for 2 years. They're nucking futs.

Is there a "do not call" list you can get on that actually works?

That sucks sandygirl. OneFlewOver is right. They are nuts. And such rude nuts. I would go ballistic.

OneFlewOver, Also the no call list doesn't apply to them cause they are a "charity" hahaha I know, I know! But someone on this thread told me about that.

Apparently, all or most of the Org Execs were called to Flag for a heavy-duty Basics Briefing recently.
The gist of the message is, "So you've got the books, NOW READ THEM!!!"
I guess we can expect a whole new call-in evolution on this.
Anyone have more data about the call up to Flag?

I got a phone message a few days ago from Saint Hill, waaaaay over there in England. I'm waaaaay over here on the West Coast of USA. They were calling me to confirm my address and phone number for their records! She wanted me to call her back!

The only way they could have gotten my number is from FLAG. I guess that's how the Orgs keep their mailing stats up now a days - each org shares their lists with each other.

Creepy Idiotic Audaciousness

I had to laugh when I read your post Sandygirl. I too had to disconnect my phone to stop the incessant calling. I pity the poor fool who gets my old number reassigned to them!

The other day I was talking with my sister who lives on the east coast in one of the Confederate states. I'm on the west coast. She told me that she received a mysterious call where someone was asking for me. They asked for me by my first name and she just thought it was a wrong number so she said that there was no one by that name here and hung up. But then she got curious and checked her caller ID and saw that the call originated from one of the orgs in the northeast that I had been affiliated with over 20 years ago.

I cannot conceive of how they came up with her number and connected it with me. We don't have the same last name, she has moved and changed numbers many time in the last 20 years, she has never been a Scientologist. In fact it would have been much easier to find me than her.

What the hell is going on here? Anybody else have creepy bizzare tales of church contacts with distant friends or relatives?

You can get a trap put on your phone from the phone company.
You can file a harassment complaint with your local police department (and theirs).
You can file a lawsuit for harassment if you're so inclined.

If you're declared and/or in the deadfiles, you have a stronger case. Just sayin'.

I've just "joked" about the Mafia, but from what I've heard that is a Mafia technique with their straight businesses such as fitting replacement windows; "advising" a prospective client that "other kinds of windows break."

Indeed they do, with a brick aimed at them. Similarly, the Cof S seems to want to sell its new editions of LRH works by saying that "old copies disappear." Nice one, must tell dictionary publishing companies about that.
