The Truth about Marty Rathburn

My post was more antagonistic than intended, so I edited it.

I met Marty a few times, although I was a no one to him so I doubt I left any real impression upon him.

I think I may have left an impression now though. LOL.

The concern I have about Marty is that I do not wish him to gain steam or momentum.

People are out of the SO and Scn and looking for answers. Marty is providing people with answers. The same answers, wrapped differently with a new shiny bow.

I do not wish to see Marty rise to take over the Church or start a freezone movement until he has evaluated Scientology properly.

I consider him a threat. I know he will do further actions to undermine the Church to see it change.

However, he has managed to pull the wool over the guys of many people using excellent PR and Rollback methods.

He, like DM, will not engage me or another person that can really argue because he knows he would lose the arguement and his status will be deminished.

Thus, he surrounds himself with those that he can defeat in an arguement, or sway. I don't care either way, and take it both ways. And dare I say it, sometimes with the things I say, I deserve it.

But I can live with that.

Marty engaged me and Ax, and Hartley Patterson was supposed to be
there and another renagade " squirrel".

He considered myself and Ax as " opponents" of some sort and was happy to meet and engage in discussion. No one in fact "defeated" anyone, was good discussion.

There are lots of reasons for not "engaging" someone, Aaron. There could be all sorts of reasons someone might not want to talk to you, just as there cold be all sorts of reasons why you might not want to speak with someone else.

That's ridiculous. Hubbard himself defined a Scientologist as someone who uses Scn in his or her life. Period. No mention of who's in what organization.

Also, as I said, many FreeZoners ARE tech purists and don't butcher anything.

You should probably do some reading as you appear to be operating on limited and incomplete information. There is nothing wrong with not having all the facts but when you are standing on such a platform and using it to tell others what they are and are not, well, it's kind of not so good.

Oh, I understand quite well. I've been on the 'net talking with critics for over eleven years. I have friends who are Free Zoners. I used to BE a Free zoner. Then I was an indie. I am still very close friends with several critics of CofS and Scn and talk to them a few times a week about this stuff (as well as other things) It's also a matter of religious history too. I've done a lot of reading on Scn, was in Scn for years, have been in the critic's scene for years, and know far many freezoners than you do- people I speak WITH, not AT- unlike you and some others; so I'm surprised and displeased at your assumption that I have not or that you've done more than I. I doubt that you have read more than I on this subject or that you have as much experience as I do. IYour comment is self serving, specious and demonstrably has no basis in fact.

What was wrong with your thesis was that it was based on people who change Scn around to suit them. However, probably half or so non CofS Scn'ists are tech purists which means they don't do that. So yeah, they're Scn'ists. They do by the book auditing. They do by the book word clearing. They do by the book TRs. Admin scales. Data series. same bridge, even. OT levels, Ls, grades, same remedies, assessment lists. A green form 40 is a green form 40.

No offense, but on this one you aren't barking up the right tree. Telling me I don't know about Scn - with all MY experience- well, that's like telling my kittehs that they don't know about climbing trees and shedding all over the damn place, or telling my husband that he doesn't know how to operate a cordless drill. It's just something you made up because you did not like what you were seeing. I will not back down on this one.

I did not say that Scn was a Christianity evolution thing. I said that people are doing the same (FZ, Independent scene) as Christian heretics have. And before them, people were creating offshoots of other elder religions. They all do it.

Feel free to explain to our Free Zone friends and board habituees that they do not exist and aren't doing what they're doing.

I agree with every word ... except the above (bolded) ... I now believe he was simply TRYING to create lots of $$$$$.

And he succeeded.

Scientology turns well meaning 'wannabee Counsellor's' into what hubbard called auditors ... they are told (and most probably believe) that they are the most important people on the planet (yawn) ... but IMNSHO they are actually (sadly) money makers and enablers that are used up and run into the ground to the point of exhaustion.

Most "pc's" would be just as well off (psychologically) having a chat to a genuine person who cares about them, when they require it.

Of course, they would be way better off financially.

All of the other staff are given 'impressive post titles' but are only really there to create the market and gather up the $$$.

So they too are (often well meaning) enablers being used up and run into the ground like the cheap resource that they are.

Sad.
