The 'Why' Scientology works (on some) ....... & does not, on others .....

As always, what you say makes a lot of sense.

Thank you, I always appreciate hearing that, I really do and I should thank more often. Ive been watching the same old crap go on for so long, and expect nothing from our Federal government of crooks and sanctioned torturers (note) in amerika.. I expect some truly constitutional militia group might end scientology (Locations of thier secret stashs of gold, money, food, slaves and guns HERE) after the USA falls apart in the coming financial collapse.

Sidebar and background music for this post: Steve Allen (see Letter to Heber) was one of the few show biz faces I recall critical of scientology from back then...) he interviews Bob Dylan, about a song Bob wrote, about "justice" in America.. called "The Ballad of Hattie Carroll" which is a social lesson in itself...

I kind of think taht Horatio may have been on some 'whacky backy' or something similar when he sent the original post. I struggled with the point of it.

Anyway ... moving on. I have seen many born again Christians collapse on the floor after beeing touched on the forehead by the healing MInister. They have said to me this was when they felt their faith was immeasurably strong, and they felt a god flow throughout their bodies.

I think Scn tends to achieve some results in a haphazard manner depending on what the PC is open too and if they truly believe it is going to work or not. Some people will blindly follow the belief system till the day they die in a similiar manner. I have constantly had some skepticism since day one. Perhaps that is why I was basically a NCG or close enough to it.

The OT OP seems to have lost his lust for this thread

LOL. Nice try, Bill (Yaude). You & your OSA shenanigans posting as 'Turtlez' on OCMB didn't work there... they sure, in hell, aren't going to work here.

Keep trying, cupcake. :dancer:

You think this is Yaude? Could also have been somebody playing a tongue in cheek joke. On the other hand, the original post is so empty, so haughty, so meaningless that maybe it was part of a stat push.

You all have pointed out that scientology does work but in a negative way. But the thread title implies that it works on some in a very positive way. With respect, I remain, well let's say skeptical of that due to my own experience and oh yeah! because I never witnessed the slightest otness in self or others. Having witnessed no gains I'm not excited about discussing the theory of why some have made gains.

The initial post also promises 'more later.' Even more brilliant elucidation of the truths that only the most perceptive of us can grasp I assume. Scientology it seems to me is a kind of 'more later' ideology. Maybe a better definition of the word 'scientology' would be: 'knowing how to promise that the next level will deliver what was promised and not delivered on the previous level--with a straight face.'

Anyway, I hope Horatio will come back and tell us it was some sort of joke.

Did they tell you you could get away with doing an extension course instead of signing up for your next service if you posted shit like this?
...which is a long story given the history of a spiritual being imagining itself (i.e mocking itself up) as being a man. The invisible becoming visible. The formeless taking form. The timeless appearing in time. etc.

Nonetheless I will provide a short version here (for openers) having been prepared for the intellectual elite amongst us. Elsewise it would take a few lifetimes (if not more) to explain the basic & fundamental dynamics involved to the idiots amongst us. Which are many.

The foremost question at the moment for us ('us' being humanity) is how is it possible that such a great human liar could produce such a great spiritual truth? Which conceptual framework is intellectually indisputable as being 'workable' (though the morons amongst us will continue to whine about it). So be it. More on being a moron later.

Given the depth, breadth and scope of the subject I must and will necessarily begin with a few simple concepts. Beginning with the fundamental concept that: all human beings have a 'Moral Code'. Which consequence of such an elementary concept will come into play later on (in terms of coming to understand why Scientology works on some, and why Scientology does not work on others).

By the way, as a side note, the reason most human beings do not think for themselves, is because thinking itself, is work. Don't believe me? Think about it.

L. Ron Hubbard knew something most people in this world didn't (and never would/will) know. Which is to say he knew he was a God, of sorts, in regard to this world. He knew he was a Spiritual Being that was formless and timeless and thus invisible and eternal, which he called, in his words, the Static. Not 'A' Static mind you. But 'The' Static. Big difference. More on that later. Covered in the subject of Being a 'Thetan'.

Sufficient to clarify (for the moment) Scientology appeared on the worlds stage/scene owing to the presence of a man that knew (if not merely deeply-believed) that all men were Gods, even as he struggled with his own sense (and reality) of being a man. With all of the difficulties such a co-reality entails and demands. After all, he did flunk physics. And he did write Dianetics. In that order.

More later.

Once upon a time Horacio received an introductory pinch test and thereupon joined Scientology to find out what was wrong with him and fix it.

Eventually, after many failed attempts to fix it, they told him that his next step was to go on the Internet and try to confuse people with gibberish.

Ever grateful for the opportunity to continue moving up the Bridge, Horacio became an author, just like Ron, writing meaningless spiritual-sounding nonsense. He's here on ESMB now to help guide us to total freedom.

It's an on-Source win. Really.

Well Horace... mate none of us here give a flying fuck about it...it's not like many of us (if any of us) are going to go back into that squirrel cage again. Would you not take a prolonged period of hesitation...terms of years...before posting more drivel?

There is no evidence it actually works. I think this is why it is a religion. Dianetics was tested against three claims and found ineffective in a 1953 NYU study (on Andreas' site).

A December 1950 review in a psychiatric journal asked if Hubbard's evidence existed only in his [vivid] imagination.

The use of near obligatory testimonials is not evidence.

He was willing to lie in ways that most are not. He had cojones, and likely some good drugs.

Best Wishes!

Brilliant reference! Sometimes we or at least I try to make too much sense out of grammatical but meaningless wordage.
That's what's wrong with the $cilon "study tech" indoctrinations we received. No amount of word clearing will make sense of a word salad no matter how long we bury our faces in a Merriam Webster or how many little pieces of clay we push around for fear of getting a flunk from some $cilon indoctrinee dim wit.
