What's new

Thought it's time to introduce myself.

HI, I've been reading ESMB for a couple of days; left some comments on some threads and now think I'll introduce myself.

My friend Wisened One told me about this board it took me a while to finally confront it.

I think ESMB is important b/c many people are leaving the church and this gives them a chance to realize it's ok. The 'Wog' world really isn't that bad. Also anyone who wants to find out the other side, not church PR would do well to check out posts here.

A bit about myself, I'll get around to full story some other time:
was in Scn for about six (6) years frmm 1995 to around 2001-2002.
Mission staff for 5.5 years.
ARC straight wire comp.
GAT Student Hat Comp.
PTS/SP GAT Comp.
Basic Course room Sup.
Purif I/C.
EPF in PAC base in LA for 3 (loooonnngg) months. didn't comp. never in Sea Org. (thank God!)
Did Route to Infinity course on FreeWinds.
Read all basic books

And yeah, I was in Man The Unfathomable, played a puritan in the Witch Burning scene.

My time in Scn. wasn't too terrible, didn't have any money, worked 6-7 days a week apporx. 10-12 hour days. But that was fine b/c somehow I was saving the planet and my own eternity.

I got out b/c stopped believing that Scn. couldn't even save itself let alone the world.

So that's it for now.

So cool!!!!! A BIG WELCOME and thanks for this intro. I've seen your posts and like the phone booth. It reminds me of the Dr. Who series. Remember that?? Anyway, great to hear from you and look forward to seeing more of you on the board.

Hi there! :)

I thought Man The Unfathomable was shot in the late 70s. Were you in it last lifetime? Ah — did they remake it?

Cool! I saw Man the Unfathomable when I was at Flag, don't think I was supposed to though :whistling: I have to say I hadn't laughed so much in all the time I'd been there, it was hysterical :roflmao: I tried to get to see it again while I was trying to leave and not allowed on course but never got the chance. No one to see it with

Anyway, welcome R6Basic

Welcome. I find it funny that scios and exes often introduce themselves by telling what courses and auditing they have had.

What I want to know are your physical dimensions.

:welcome: R6Basic - glad to have you aboard.

Did they remake "Man the Unfathomable?" I remember seeing it at its release when I was at FSO in 88(?)

They couldn't have remade it Scooter, DOF, I saw it in 2008, the special effects and the costumes were way too bad, even for the cult, for a remake. It was like watching a really bad 50's movie, so bad it was worth watching just for the laugh. Or maybe that's the effect they were going for???:confused2:

I think it was shot in the late 70s. It should also have been hanged, electrocuted, guillotined and keel-hauled.

Replys to my intro post.

To Immortal - The BBC rebooted the series in, I believe 2003. I use to watch when Tom Baker was the Doctor.

Dulloldfart, Scooter and Miss Pert.
Here is how I got to be in Man the Unfathomable...

I was busy digging a whole next the CLO WUS office, the basement was leaking.

someone in a Gold T-shirt waked over to me and said "If you want to be in a film then get to third floor of the parking garage as soon as possible." That sounded funner then digging a whole so I ran up to third floor of parking garage, about a block and a half.

--- Historical note -- this was 1996 I believe at PAC base in LA. I am really bad at being able to date things but I know I was in EPF when Golden Age of Tech was released and I was in EPF for 3 months. ----

Got the garage (that by the way was were we use to muster) but Gold guy wasn't there. I was told that they went back to CLO building. I ran back down there, about 1 and 1/2 blocks, found the guy he said to get cleaned up and he would met me and the others in the berthing.

Ran (at dead run) to berthing, up 4-5 flights of stairs. grabbed my clothes, ran up to top floor (where showers were) did a quick shower, ran back down stairs. The guy who was putting this party together stated it was going to be cold, so I quickly changed. then we ran down stairs out to parking lot jumped in a van ... and waited and waited for someone to drive us out to place they were filming.

I remember going into a van to get my costume then waited around for our part to be shot.

It took place in a field. I remember we lined up on one side a yelled curses at the witch. I kept yelling "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live!"

I don't know why I was one of the ones chosen to do this. but that is the story. Maybe I'll start this on another thread to see if anyone else was there that night who is on this board now.

I did get to see the film later when I was 'fortunate' enough to be on the Freewinds.

What was that movie where the 16th century doctor examines the woman's birthmark, determining that it is UN-natural, and therefore she is a witch? It goes through a number of other historical times and ends with all the characters together and I think, an e-meter on a pedestal or something. I must have seen that at an event in the 90's.

I don't know the name. Must be one of the basic E-Meter films. I think that's the one that goes through the overdone purported history of how people "figured out" what was going on in a person's mind before the e-meter came along. I vaguely remember a scene involving knights or monks and saints and trying to divine which saint was involved with the person's ailment.

Welcome R6!
Yes, I remember the debut of your movie! I believe I saw it outside at FSO at an event. How absolutely dreadful! There was some new public there to see it as well. Yep, that and Orientation! :melodramatic: What can you say!!
But no reflection on you, of course!!
Glad to hear the beginning of your story!
Good job W.O.! Stats are up!!
Welcome again R6 and have fun reading here! It's quite an education!
