I had similar experiences as you and was always more self-invalidated via their invalidation and so my self-esteem lowered to where I chose to believe that any disagreements with the data had to be due to MUs. I was quite thoroughly convinced while on course at all times. Privately, at home, I was never in agreement. Luckily for me, the home thinking eventually led me away from the courseroom thinking and I never went back. It only took me 22 years to do it, but I did.

I don't know how you guys that trained at Flag put up with all that BS! I would have a nervous breakdown!
When I went to train at ASHO on the BC I ended up a completely bogged student and couldn't study anymore. I think I was on Level Two. I was sent home to do the newly out Purification Rundown. The thinking was that that would somehow handle by study bog. It wasn't until I left the cult that I unraveled how I got bogged. All the answers to my condition lay in the many faults of the study "tech" or the misapplication of said by course sups. What a relief to finally know and understand what had happened. If I had stayed in the cult my own discoveries would have never been accepted and would I have remained bogged forever.

I have reached the conclusion that in Scientology there is no study.
There is memorizing.
Anyone actually studying the subject, beginning with BOOK I, DIANETICS, would demand to see a Clear in order to---study them. Why wouldn't a student need to study a Clear? Isn't that the "missing mass" that Ron Hubbard drones on endlessly about?
If an actual Clear was not produced for student's studying the technology of Clearing, I think that would be the end of it.
Perhaps one could (before exiting the classroom and org) show a bit of manners and leave behind a POST-IT NOTE....

I didn't memorize anything... but I had gone over so many HCOBs time-and-time again that I could direct a student's question to an exact HCOB on that topic from my memory. In fact, that is what I did before the SCN Tech Dictionary was published. (We also had a recipe-type card case with many SCN definitions on cards, before the Tech Dictionary came out.)
But don't ask me to do it now. This was decades ago.

Doesn't it seem rather odd that one spends decades studying Clear and OT but never once is allowed to sit in front of a Clear or OT and ask them anything about what their newfound abilities are.
And God forbid you even thought about asking them to demonstrate their abilities.
All the "Mass" and "Demonstrations" and "Practical" were actually just theoretical imaginings.
Scientologists are sternly lectured about "Ethics and Study Tech" but that is a misdirection.
Scientologists are told they are the first ever to have "Study Tech" and it's marvels are endlessly praised. But Scientologists are not actually ever allowed to study.
Why I say that they are prohibited from STUDYING is because the first (and primary) activity of learning any subject is to ask questions.
Scientologists are never allowed to ask questions.
Questions are anti-scriptural, unholy and sacrilegious.
Scientology students are not even shown PHOTOGRAPHS of Clears/OT's doing their supernatural feats.
All that a Scientologist is allowed to see is slick iconic representations (light-bathed graphic illustrations usually) of bridges and rocket ships and planets.
The rest of the "study" the Scientologist does in their own mind.
It's a joke.

I guess this explains why I got into so much trouble as a Sup all the time. I had the idea that it was okay for students to disagree or be bogged at times or even use the demo kit when they saw fit. For some strange reason I must have had an erroneous data that students should be self-determined while studying and at times work through their confusions and troubles. How stupid of me - I never realized that my true purpose as a Sup is to train perfect robots applying KSW 100%.
Here are some orders I have received as a supervisor.
Meter check and spot check every student every course period. I get students telling me they were just meter checked 10 minutes ago. Well, you have study something since the last meter check.
Make sure the students are sitting straight up in their chairs at all times. Perfect training for robots.
That student has an MU - go and find it. This comes from the all-seeing all-knowing senior or his senior or Qual who observed my entire course room in a matter of 10 seconds.
If the student hasn't made his target or is behind make sure he works through his breaks, lunch/dinner hour, stays after course and comes in when he is not schedule to be. This is the "Or else" application of Hubbard wonderful tech.
Every student must be pink sheeted every course period. Got to make that PS quota.
Send all slow students to the W/Cer because they have MUs. Again the all-knowing and all-seeing execs.
That student has lack of mass - get him to demo. The demo is the answer to all problems with mass.
These students must complete their course today - no fail. The Tone 40 command. Yes Master I will obey!
Send all late students to ethics. Honest I would have been here on time and I even left 30 minutes early but the traffic was jammed and I was only 30 seconds late.
Send the student to ethics because he won't come in extra time to complete his course. After all the student is on a full time schedule and works full time and has a family. He clearly isn't playing the game.
Students points are down - find his why. Student did drills and made 2000 points then did reading and made only 500 points.

Interpretation? INTERPRETATION???!!! It was all covered in print, transcripts of the Study Tapes.
Almost all of my supervising was done between 1983 and 1995 at two orgs only: Saint Hill and New World Corps/International Training Org. I never went to Flag.
Almost all the tech seniors I had, or people inspecting my courseroom (at least, those who said anything), were pretty good tech people. And this was before GAT came out.
So I never really came across idiotic tech people telling me stupid things, apart from a cram I got from Ray Mithoff once after I sent in a huge report about International Tech Errors and made a comment about not wanting to work at Int in response to an invite from him to work at RTRC. I nearly ended up in the RPF after that. After a mammoth session with the Cram Officer and a long sec check I didn't find anything wrong with my tech but I sure got cured of communicating to Int!

Seems to me that the "tech" has been the subject of one, decades-long, uninterrupted stream of new interpretations.

Thus I was given all the difficult students in London Org day. Handled them all from semi literates to foreign language students. Never liked method 4 or used it. Method 3 7 and 9 were what I did. Specially m3.
