Brief addendum to what I just posted before...
Just a brief caveat:
Where money is involved, you can't just sign any old thing with impunity. I just got a call regarding my request for repayment, suggesting that I sign a Release in exchange for the check. (I bet, in view of what I posted before, they thought I was just going to sign whatever they put in front of me.)
I said I'd be happy to sign a receipt, but that I wouldn't sign a release. Signing a receipt in exchange for money is just standard business practice. With a release, you're signing some of your rights away.
And you'd better believe I'm gonna read it very carefully. So don't try anything foolish, OSA.
