The church of Scientology has suffered yet another blow to its reputation this week as reports came to light that another high profile Scientologist celebrity has left the Church.

Radar Online reports that a source close to Tom Cruise’s son Connor Cruise told them that Connor has distanced himself from the Church in favor of exploring other spiritual paths, currently looking into Islam in Morocco.

The source revealed, “Connor is in Morocco right now doing some soul searching. He is on a spiritual journey.”

Connor Cruise, who is an aspiring DJ, took to his Instagram account to share his new spiritual path with his friends and followers, posting a picture of himself in Morocco along with the caption, “#Simplicity #Africa #Morocco #Kasbah.”

The insider said that Connor’s trip is more than just a vacation though, “Connor is no longer as interested in being a member of Scientology,” the source said.

Losing His Religion: Tom Cruise’s Son Connor On ‘Spiritual Journey’ In The Desert, ‘Trying To Find Himself,’ Says Source — Leaving Scientology For Good?

According to the insider, this trip is no simple vacation; but rather, it’s yet another sign that he could be leaving the Church Of Scientology for good.

“Connor is no longer as interested in being a member of Scientology,” the source says.

Reports about his allegedly growing disenchantment with the church first surfaced months ago: In an interview with Woman’s Day Australia, Cruise addressed the rumors that he had an estranged relationship with his mother, Nicole Kidman, who left the church after her divorce from Cruise.

His "spiritual journey" Morocco will be short-lived. He has a DJ gig in New York next week. He was in Los Angeles last week.

I can't imagine anyone born in the U.S. really wanting to spend much time there. Vacation and party, sure, but it's a weird place. I was there once, and it was very Indiana Jones. Here's an image -- imagine a man in a full length overcoat passing you by, and opening it up (pants on, get your mind out of the gutter) and the coat is full of watches on the inside, apparently held in place with pins or something. He speaks: Watch? Me: I already have one. Man: One is enough. And he keeps going without stopping. Morocco. The best plan, is to take a hydroplane across the water to Gibraltar, and check out the tail-less monkeys on the rock.

Edit: Liked the links. It looks like he recently saw a movie in Hollywood, and judging from the posts, he's on a crazy camel riding party trip in an exotic locale, with his bro.

Careful, you might get beheaded if you
- tell the truth
- leave the faith
- criticize the faith
- publish a novel
- make some cartoons...
- or just if someone feels like it.

Or, if you make a movie, be stabbed multiple times in the chest while walking the street,

Well you know the axiom - if you don't learn the lessons life throws your way they'll come up for you again -- only bigger and badder. Out of the cult frying pan and into the fire.

I must be tired. I'm mixing cliches....

Isn't going to Morocco for a muslim spritual journey like going to New Zealand for a catholic spiritual journey? Sure, you can find it there, but not the most obvious choice?
My media mind is telling me this was a desperation piece on a slow news day. Altenatively it could be something "leaked" by COS to get some NOI brownie points. It has just the right amount of wtf that is characteristic of them.

Yes, interesting that he's out riding on camels, while his mother is at the funeral of his grandfather.

Apparently both kids were devastated by their grandfathers death. Except they didn't go to the funeral.

Morocco is a major tourist destination & it attracts alot of film producers seeking "exotic" locations. Hell, the 'Housewives of Beverly Hills' filmed there last year.

I have relatives in the TV/Movie biz, and I know that L.A. is on the way out, as far as shooting goes. Still, I wouldn't spend more than a long weekend in Morocco. And I'm not in the TV thing; I haven't watched much in the past 5 years, and have never heard of the Housewives of Beverly Hills before.
