This is a really good advertisement for how Scientology raises IQ. I am sure it will have people flocking in.
My goodness - makes you wonder what Tom's IQ was when he started.....:coolwink:

Results indeed.

Still

o yeah on the arrogance thing and scn...

there's that rotten "scientology has THE answers"

now THAT'S arrogant

and invalidative

o...

you are doing something other than spending every ounce of time energy and material resource on "clearing the planet"?

how woggy and unethical!

christ on a bicycle!

makes my blood boil just thinking about that gutwrench soulrape horsecrap; "they'll stone you when you're trying to be so good; they'll stone you just like they said they would. they'll stone you when you're trying to go home; they'll stone you when you live all alone..."

Maybe for people at the top, like Cruise and DM.

For regular public and low-level staff, I can ASSURE you that there are LOTS of people telling you that you are incompetent, out-ethics scum if you don't get the stats up or fail to donate profusely to IAS and Ideal Orgs.

Yeah, that's true.

They are worse than Hollywood directors!

He is soooo out of touch with reality. Even if it IS true (that the movies he's making are physically taxing) there is no threat to his life, no Taliban, no roadside bombs etc.

What a self important fruitcake.

I think people also look at this and think - If I had over $270 million dollars, I am sure I'd get to see my kids more.

the lower level tech's OK

there's problems with policy

and then there's just bipeds being bipeds...

and so much of ron's general yak is such garbage

and of course there's always...

"higamus hogamus, girls are monogamous

hogamus higamus, boys are polygamus"

The green on white is consistent with the red on white.

You know I'm going to agree with you every time you quote Dylan.

body routers

i'm an auditor.

i ain't dealing with a body

i'm addressing a being

jay-zisss

ya know, one day wisner accused me of "granting to much beingnes"

yeah...

wiz was a "don't try to understand 'em; just rope, tie, and brand 'em" kind of guy wasn't he

a tune which is a major theme of green on white and by my own lights the antithesis of the ETHOS! of tech

Yes I do.

Especially for the individual.

Hollywood has its own internal critique, both public and private.

There are critics, there are producers and financiers who must be satisfied, etc.

But there are no checks and balance to the ego in Scientology.

Because any social restraint to the ego is considered invalidation and supressive in Scientology.

The Anabaptist Jacques
this is the stats graph they would wish to push higher. but as far as i know darpa and the military industrial comllex isnt plying $cn with money. and the cia isn't check marking their propaganda. i can't say the same for hollywood.

seen the academy awards lately? what a travesty.

I hope you don't mind AnonKat, but I think what you wrote there should be written here too.

AnonKat said: There's really only two explanations for his comments: he really does think his acting in a movie is as hard as a military member's tour in Afghanistan or he thinks so little of the men and women who deploy to Afghanistan and their experiences there that he feels it's okay to use it as a glib off-hand remark while under oath and being deposed. Either way, his ego is writing checks his body can't cash.

i admit i have not read these depositions closely, but didn't the attorney sort of put those words in his mouth?
maybe i will look that up next time i get to my desktop, but it seems the poor not quite bright miidle aged boy was a little set up.

how famous was he before he got in?
i don't know exactly when that all happened.

Cruise married actress Mimi Rogers on May 9, 1987. The marriage lasted two years, and their divorce was finalized on February 4, 1990. Rogers introduced Cruise to Scientology.

Cruise first appeared in a small bit part in the 1981 film Endless Love, followed by a major supporting role as a crazed military school student in Taps later that year. In 1983, Cruise was part of the ensemble cast of The Outsiders. That same year he appeared in All the Right Moves and Risky Business, which has been described as "A Generation-X classic, and a career-maker for Tom Cruise", and which, along with 1986's Top Gun, cemented his status as a Superstar. Cruise also played the male lead (Jack O' the Green) in Legend (released 1986).

Cruise followed up Top Gun with The Color of Money, which came out the same year, and which paired him with Paul Newman. 1988 saw him star in Cocktail, which earned him a nomination for the Razzie Award for Worst Actor.

Before scientology, Tom was comfortable posing for a gay men's magazine:

... and also rocked Cher's love-making life, in 1985.

you don't seriously believe scientology produces worse arrogance than hollywood

I have played in both sandboxes.

Scientology ("OT") is the Hollywood ego on steroids.

In Hollywood if you commit an unpardonable "crime" the punishment is: "You'll never work in this town again."

In Scientology, if you commit an unpardonable "crime" the punishment is: "You lost your eternity". Add to that, there is an army of grinning cult sociopaths assigned to destroy your finances, family, pursuit of happiness, health, freedom and sanity--while they figure out a way to 8C you through a routing form to prison, an insane asylum, suicide and/or graveyard.

Scientology: The world's only religion that has a "win" when you're (rather) dead than incapable (of helping them rape the minds and bank accounts of homo sapiens).

Theta stuff, Scientology, isn't it Commander?

That has been repeated throughout music history. So, what is your point ... heroin is better than scientology?

no point AC

just some wiseacring

but opiates do seem to be of practical benefit to musicians. i only ever did morphine one time but i went out and did a major league thing with music off it...

the "you lost your eternity" thing is a recent unsightly development HH

in fact...

back in the day...

it was about dec '72 or jan '73 there was an Int ED came down at fcdc about using scientology in invalidative ways. it would be great to come up with a copy of it as a prime example of the enlightened ambience of the time...

Hey Commander, qualify musician please. Some classical players have gotten away with being stoned when they were young. Jazzers and rockers are routinely stoned, but they don't have to play ten thousand notes per concert. Which reminds me I have to go play a concert tomorrow. AND I have to play the right notes at the right time.

Let's be very charitable and give Tom Cruise the benefit of the doubt. Let's say he is solely and wholly the victim of media whores, having a total disregard for the truth, and for the sake of sensational copy, have no compunction about using his words out of context (and I do think there is some degree of this).

Even so, is this guy so thick that he can't figure that out after all these years? His ego is massive.

Well being a celebrity may not be like fighting in Afghanistan but -- especially in this country and as famous as he is -- it is to be a prisoner. Maybe a prisoner at Club Med but a prisoner just the same.

Really? Tom cruise thinks that his work is as difficult as a soldier in Afghanistan? I could just imagine he and his BFF riding in a Humvee down a road riddled with IEDs. They would both be crying like little girls begging for some real soldiers to protect them. How would the two of them have performed in Viet Nam? The Korean War? Iraq?

We will never know because they are both too chicken shit to ever really do such a thing unless it's in a movie or a fantasy in their mind.
