Tom Cruise is Moving to Florida

The last time I was in Clearwater was in the 80s when my retired-to-Florida father took me on an car tour through downtown Clearwater, with the weird cult being the attraction. I had no idea Scientology had colonized a town. I vaguely remember that he explained that while they use a cross as their symbol, it doesn't represent the crucifixion but is more for cover.

Most towns of a similar size were bustling at the time, with seniors on their way to the $3 early-bird specials, the Piggly Wiggly and Walmart/K-mart. Downtown Clearwater was completely deserted and eerie.

Anonycat says it was always that way. I didn't know that.

I wonder how much Cruise's move has to do with a shift in the atmosphere in Hollywood where he senses that everybody is talking about him and his cult behind his back. Before he was able to pretend that when he was "disseminating" to Spielberg and others, that they were taking him seriously and now, not so much.:coolwink:

Tom Cruise isn't fake at all, because he's so very sincere and certain. And that's what's scary. If while in Florida, Tom confines his socializing to successful business owners and the other elites of his cult, I bet he's going to find that even more boring after a while. Tom would be better off in living in France or some place where he could isolate himself more from native speakers of English and the reality that Scientology is collapsing as it becomes more transparent -- clear, if you will.

Doesn't he still have that ranch in Telluride or somewhere out in the sticks? Doesn't he have a few more? Travolta, I was told, has 8 houses, something like Hawaii, LA, Maine, Florida are a few I've heard of. So if Tom sells off a couple of his houses, he's still not bereft.

I see here an interesting parallel between the ideal orgs, Tom and Travolta - John and Tom are ideal stars, and an ideal star would have a plethora of ideal vacant houses, much like the ideal orgs. Why, I ask, is Tom breaking away from tradition?

Apparently Tom Cruise is getting out of LA. He’s selling his $59 million home in Beverly Hills and, according to US Weekly, he wants to move to Florida because “he thinks all the people in Hollywood are fake”. So he’s relocating like John Travolta, a guy who is TOTALLY LIVING HIS TRUE LIFE, to be closer to Scientology headquarters.

Is Scientology like Moses and Hollywood is Egypt? EXODUS!

Makes sense though. They spent all that money on the new facility in Florida. So it would be ideal if their two major faces were close to the mothership, right? What does this mean for Xenu presence among celebrities though? Is recruitment among celebrities slowing? I need to stop asking questions. Yesterday there was an article at The Hollywood Reporter about how the church has been targeting Academy members, lobbying against Going Clear, and continuing its alleged attacks on Going Clear director Alex Gibney. Chills, chills, chills.

Um...the people in Hollywood are fake <snip>

Only an SP would make a broad generality like that. Wait a second, that's a broad generality. That means Hubbard is an SP, too. And if scientologists believe that, then they are all SPs. So, if all scientologists are SPs, will they destroy each other? Or do none of them know how to think/know? Wow. The world's 'only experts' on the mind came up with this crap.

Dear Mr. Cruise,

I have made for you the Tom Cruise Rundown. Um, of course I time-travelled to learn this and lots of other really, really impressive stuff, so you just know it's true. I'm the best friend of the universe. Okay, settled. I'd rather like it if you'd salute my photo of a cat. Okay, here we go.

1) All people who believe in SPs, are actually SPs themselves.

2) Hubbard was also an SP for making broad generalizations.

3) All the OTs in Los Angeles could not "improve conditions" for miles around them, as Hubbard said they could. There are no OTs. Especially you.

4) You, Hubbard, and all scientologists are SPs, there are no OTs, and Los Angeles is actually pretty nice.

5) Please send $500,000 to my PayPal account today, so you aren't "out exchange". I know how scientologists cannot have that.

Program for Leland and his DOTS case.

From where could you communicate to a dot?
What problem would a dot be a solution to?
What have you done to a dot?
What has a dot done to you?
Has a dot missed a withhold on you?
What have you done to that dot that the dot doesn't know about?
Do you have an upset with a dot?
How could your dot make yourself right and others wrong?

Then it's onto the DOTS Rundown. (Not to be confused with NOTS)

How fascinating. The cult went from trying to recruit Hollywood types to now attacking them. Interesting!

Keep at it, if you drill it enough you'll be ready for a supervisor pass...

Ellipsis (plural ellipses; from the Ancient Greek: ἔλλειψις, élleipsis, "omission" or "falling short") is a series of dots (typically three, such as "…") that usually indicates an intentional omission of a word, sentence, or whole section from a text without altering its original meaning.

Ellipsis normally means omission of something and is often seen in quotations.

In Leland's case....however....it just means a sort of meandering....different thoughts here and there... from one topic to another...without need for punctuation (using the dreaded single-dot periods) ...or capitalization......who can be bothered?

I kid Leland of course. I've often found myself using those awesome dots on occasion....

I have never been to Clearwater. I had just taken a quote from Leland (who I have blocked, but can see when he's quoted) and did a spoof/edit of it. Sorry for the confusion.

TMZ a gossip TV show here in the States....was playing in the other room.....and they started talking about Tom Cruise moving to Tampa, Florida.

One snarky comment I heard was: " is he moving to Florida, or was he abducted by aliens....and they're dropping him off in Clearwater....?"

pretty funny.

a world of '' this is the truth''...
I vote for dotyness!

Mimi Rogers' "cookie"? Now what the heck does that mea... Oh, no, not that...

Huh.

------------

I went to Clearwater once. A friend and I went on a "gambling cruise" from there. They take you out into international waters (I think it was 12 miles) and then open the "casino area" of the boat. I don't gamble and detest the noise of the slot machines, so spent my afternoon up on the deck enjoying the sun. Along with various others who don't gamble.

Didn't see my friend all day...
