Too Much Cruelty

Sometimes, the cruelest thing that can be done to a person, is being nice.

Sometimes, the nicest thing that can be done to a person, is speaking the cold, harsh, "cruel" truth as one sees it.

YMMV

Why?

It went to shit after he bawed about being "handled". It was deliberate. He wanted to provoke & he did. He got what he wanted - a reason to say "Poor widdle me".

Anyway - he asked for an opinion and I gave him one. If he couldn't handle the truth he shouldn't have asked.

 True he shouldn't have asked for an honest answer if he wasn't going to be willing to hear the answer.

The rest - who knows. Alanzo needs to work out his own stuff. His stuff shouldn't become your stuff or anyone else's.

Jesus Christ. What a drama queen.

There's a whole wide world out there where things are happening. The economy is about to explode; Fukushima is possibly going to kill us all; there's huge changes happening in cultydom with cancelled events and where is the Dwarf etc.

Who gives a fuck what's happening inside Alanzo's mind?

Don't want to derail this thread (if it is possible), but what hurts me this morning was how much credit he has... I remembered a thread about myself and my OSA past, what hurted me very much and you was there to help me and the most other ESMBler weren't there and now we have here a Alonzo and for what reason ever he gets credits and helps... This made me very angry and feeling sad.

I know it is old, but it still hurts me sometimes in some moments. It was a very horrible time for me.

Well, Nicole, there's one little snippet of "wisdom" I hadn't told you yet, because I thought you needed to find that one out for yourself. But OK, here it is: "Life isn't always fair." :coolwink:

Derail is a great idea.

Shit, Nicole, what happened to you was really nasty. I'm sorry to hear you went through that, especially after just leaving the church, when you maybe didn't quite have your feet yet.

Judging from the lack of "likes", it doesn't look like anyone believed it, though.

We always seem to remember things that embarrassed or upset us better than others do, though. She just made herself look like a jerk. Don't worry.

You're here, she's gone. What does that tell you? Hugs to you!:bighug:

You know, every time I see the German word for "nose", I think of the Yiddish word for "idiot" - but I think the Yiddish word is from a devoicing of the "b" in "butzen" to "p", which is a common linguistic mutation in Germanic and Slavic languages, because originally it meant all style and no substance, IIRC.

But I still wonder about the connection between "nose" and the secondary meaning of the Yiddish word as "dick".

Up here in the North East where I live, there are a lot of Yiddish words in circulation: schlep, shtick, putz, nosh, zaftig, chutzpah, dreck, kitsch, kvetch, maven, mensch, schlock, schmutz, schmuck, klutz, glitz, schmaltz.

I bolded the ones I think are in wider circulation beyond the cities with large Orthodox populations.

I love historical linguistics.

Well, there's this old German saying "Wie die Nase des Mannes, so auch sein Johannes". "Johannes" being a (politically correct ) analogy for "penis".

I only know Yiddish from some Ephraim Kishon stories, but always reminded me of the East-prussian dialects I've heard.

Dude, don't be falsely modest. Your English is excellent. I wish my Chinese was half as good.

LOL, you wouldn't want to know how long it takes me to get a simple message out in halfways proper English and I have very good reasons to never order a meal from my favorite Chinese restaurant in THEIR language.

Yeah, we have the same saying in English, and "Johnson" is a slang term for male member in American English.

Both preserve a lot of High German. The German the Amish speak has a lot of cognates in Yiddish, too. Do you know anything about Swiss German? I suspect it has more cognates with East Prussian and Yiddish (and Amish), than does Modern German.

Well, you are very precise in your English, and it comes out very well. My Chinese is not as good as your English, but I do dare order Chinese food in Chinese (sometimes because I happen to be in China ), but I am fully aware of the consequences of a mis-order.

I am an Ex Scientologist.

I qualify in every way as a "public" of this board.

I have been extremely open and honest in this thread.

And the treatment I have received in return has been abusive and cruel. It's all right here in this thread.

I was crying my eyes out last night.

So - let this thread stand as an example of the cruelty that Ex-Scientologists receive here at the Ex Scientologist Message Board.

I would have to be an idiot to continue to take this.

Truly - Fuck off.

Everyone.
