Waiting for CCHR to take advantage of this LA Times report..

I'm definitely not opposed to medical treatment where it's needed, but medically prescribed medicines can be extremely dangerous, and there are many deaths due to adverse reactions, adverse drug interactions and incorrect prescribing.

Buyer be aware.

Since people don't "own" a drug allergy until they take the drug (I have none so far!), tell your doctor that you are concerned about trying the new prescription. Ask how tiny of a dose would reveal an adverse reaction. Try a tiny bit if you want. Look it up in the PDR online. Tell your doctor any concerns you may have, and ask why they selected that medication over options.

I did all that with my doctor, and he gave me what I consider the absolutely correct med-aid and the correct dose.

Does CCHR still exist? I had assumed that (like so many Scientology front groups) it had gone dormant, run out of funds or shut down because the one person who orchestrated it had woken up.

Are they still active? I've not heard anything from CCHR since back when we got them banned from having a stand at the Liberal Democrat party conference, a few years back. I assumed they'd just slunk away and morphed into something equally obscure and irrelevant.

Just because the Cof$ is upgaphugged, and just because CCHR is a front for the Cof$, and just because CCHR therefore has an agenda in and of itself doesn't make them wrong on certain issues. There are plenty of non CCHR doctors who don't buy the big pharma/psychiatrist party line on perscribing/over perscribing all manner of potentially harmful and in many cases medically useless if not contraindicated drugs. Google Dr. Russell Blaylock, one of the few doctors out there who is an advocate of good nutrition and understands the issues of how the food industry goes about systematically rendering stupidmarket food about as nutritious as sawdust. But since we are on the topic of big pharma drugs, I have a parody for that as well. If anyone knows Mick Jagger personally/has an email address that he actually uses and reviews the email, please forward it to him, he might get a kick out of it.

Prozac Party
(Tune of Let’s Spend the Night Together)

My, My, My, My …
I don’t worry 'bout what's on my mind (Oh my),
Time for me to chemically unwind.
My doctor told me to take what’s prescribed (take what’s prescribed),
And don’t care about my brain gettin’ fried!
To get high, I’ll fry, fry, fry (oh my),
Time for a Prozac party,
I’m depressed and over forty,
Time for a Prozac party now!

I’m so bummed out, that I will reprise (oh my),
Time for a Prozac party,
I need these pills, just to get my highs (oh yeah),
Time for a Prozac party,
For my hang-ups, and all my let downs (all my let downs),
These pills keep me groovin’ around and around and around,
Oh my, my …
Time for a Prozac party,
I’m depressed and over forty,
Time for a Prozac party,

Time for a Prozac party,
I’m depressed and over forty,

I do some fryin’ baby,
It’ gets me flyin’ baby,
It’s been decided baby; now-
I’m depressed and over forty,
It’s time for a Prozac party,
Time for a Prozac party now!

I need my pills to get me through each day (oh my),
Time for a Prozac party,
No excuse is needed anyway (oh my),
Time for a Prozac party,
Prozac sets aside my every need (every need),
And it satisfies big pharma’s greed.
Oh my, my, my, my, my …

Time for a Prozac party,
I’m depressed and over forty,
Time for a Prozac party now!

Oh I get it.

The LA TImes is saying that instead of taking prescription drugs people should be taking heroin and cocaine.

While I would not call the study itself moronic not the comparison moronic I might at least label the comparison as a slight bit disparate.
