ALL those people running around saying " I am now OT 64 and I have unlocked the secret of the universes " was all crap and bogus

I'm glad we straightened that one out.

Only Nick and no one else can set up a person for OT IX

All OT IX will have to be qualified Solo Auditors

Nick is to be made financially very affluent

Who is "Nick"? What does his "being made financially very affluent" have to do with anything? I mean, if he is at cause over "Life Force" then he should be all set, amirite?

Or is this yet another spiritual Ponzi scheme?

You have not noticed that scientology and all of it's offshoots and 'squirrel groups' ALL centre around money? Pay me! Donate! Exchange! Money! Cash! Buy, beg, borrow, mortgage, liquidate or steal!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Scientology is the world's greatest marketing scam: any one can do it! Look what it did for ron hubbard ($356,000,000.00) and the current cult of scientology ($4,000,000,000.00).

Ask not what you can do for scientology but how scientology can make you rich!

I'd be interested to hear about an activity that people engage in as their primary occupation that doesn't involve them getting paid.

Yes you do have to fill the rest of your time up hunting and gathering, or be born with a large king George the third silver spoon in your mouth.

I don't begrudge FreeZoners or anyone else the right to charge what the market will bear for their services, but I can definitely see how it would be viewed by some as money-grubbing.

Tis true, and the only here who seem to 'support' the 'tech' are the ones trying to sell it for some bucks to somebody.

Just works out that way.

Those hawkin' it have their hands out to get paid.

I don't mind people getting paid for what they do, but, selling that shit for a living?

Selling spirituality and religion always sucks. Selling a plagiarized psychotherapy and touting it as a spiritual answer with even any kind of enlightenment is not an occupation. It is a ruse. A lie. It is only as effective as the recipient agrees to the idea that they have had gains. Challenge them and their gains vanish. This is peculiar only to brainwashing and/or delusional practices.

I will not argue the fact that scientology contains neither spirituality or religion. I say it does not and that is only my opinion.

I will argue that it tries to pass itself off as a true and real psychotherapy without EVER calling it that, and all for $$$$$$.

Psychologists, psychiatrists, psychoanalysts all have mortgages to pay and food to put on the table. It is their occupation. Priests, Rabbi's, Ministers, Clergy all count on charity to get by, not tens or hundreds or thousands of thousands of dollars to delivery a controversial and debatable "technology". That is their occupation and they do not demand fixed rate donations of any magnitude.

When it comes to real spiritual living, go ask any Tibetan (or other) monk how much money he made last year. Being a monk and striving for complete spiritual enlightenment is their occupation, one of destitute poverty, but they're all OK with that.

Just because some of us are still in denial that we were conned and brainwashed and indoctrinated into losing tens or hundreds of thousand of dollars to an evil, mind controlling cult is no reason to assume everyone has had this happen or that everyone striving for Nirvana is a con or engages in it for compensation.

Meditation is free for the asking and I have had more gains from this practice then I had in all the years of dealings with the cult of scientology and it's remnant programming and delusional support manifestations.

False assumption.

Mark A. Baker

False assumption only in the assumption but the not the end effect, which is true. There are a very few people here still trying to sell this crap. It may be NEW and IMPROVED!, from the Indies, FZers or RO'ers, but it is still the same crap; just rebranded and repackeaged.

It's true that some monks get no financial gain. However, their lifestyle is paid for either through charitable donations, forced tithes, taxation (Bhutan, periods in Tibet) or some other method. They live, for the most part, fairly humble lives. That's fine.

I'd agree that selling these services is not the ideal model, whether they are "spiritual", "psychology" or any other type of service. Grants would be better. In the absence of some extremely rich donors, though, people providing service have to get their resources from somewhere.

Right!

Wrong!

...and so the debate of the few lingers on and on and on. There is no answer here because this is not an anti-cult, anti-scientology mb. All opinions and beliefs, whatever they are, are here. Disagreement is not only likely, it is guaranteed. Only when today is ancient history will all the truths and realities about scientology and the tentacles of hubbard's greed and hypnotic, money making delusion be known. I'm sure almost all of us can agree to at least that.

Nope. I think each person has had their own experience, and therefore their own conception of the truth. While there are definitely facts about L Ron's life that can be known, and about activities at various orgs, or specific acts of specific people, "the truth about scientology" will be different for every single individual who comes out of it.

Of course, this is the case in all human experience!

There are those who say I am " wrong " for saying those who hawk scientology ( in or out of the cult ) are doing it for money.

Go to any of 'em and ask for their 'processing' ( no matter what name(s) they call it ) and see if it free or if they want paid.

Then figure out who is wrong - LOL !

I don't say you are "wrong", I just say "so what".

Selling services is the way our economy works. Now, if they are selling "Clear" and "OT", well, I think that's fraudulent and bogus.

As always, caveat emptor.
