Establish a business or premier PayPal account. Paypal allows you to register for an account with a fictitious name or nickname (though your full name is preferred). Add your anonymous email account to the list of email addresses associated with the account. You can then send money to the recipient's email address from that anonymous address.

Purple Rain gave a good suggestion above and If all else fails, send me a pm and I will give you an address to send to via snail mail. For obvious reasons we are doing this as a last resort.

Thanks to everybody who is helping.!

Sautez

Heads up:

Paypal required proof of business entity now. Like a bank account in the business name along with tax id.

If you use a fictitious business name ( a fictitious name is you, doing business as some name), you don't need proof of a bank account and tax id for it. You supply your personal name. However, no proof of business bank account needed. BUT the receipt back to the payer will not come in that name. It will come your name, which is the name on your bank account you supplied them with.

So it's not worth doing this for many people.

Besides mailing it or depositing it to his bank account directly, one can also ask a friend to transfer the money through their own paypal.

Hey Mark, this ones for you:

"If you want happiness for an hour -- take a nap.
If you want happiness for a day -- go fishing.
If you want happiness for a month -- get married.
If you want happiness for a year -- inherit a fortune.
If you want happiness for a lifetime -- help someone else.
-- Chinese proverb

It is very difficult to start over and to have financial problems hanging over ones' head. I hope that there will be a way for enough to be sent to give Mark a breather while he pursues his plans and options for the long range.

In addition to monetary and material assistance, it sure doesn't hurt to meditate, pray, postulate- whichever any of us would do in our hearts for those we know. I really believe those things make a difference.

I'm delighted to be able to help a little bit. Here's why I did it, though.

Mark has been very sweet to me. I don't know that I can call him a friend, but that's only because I never met him in person. But other than that, yes, fond of him. If I can help a friend or friendly acquaintance whom I like, who's in need, I will always try to do that.

I understand that, for some, their reasons for helping him or feeling that this would be a good thing are different and hinge on all he's done for the critic's scene. I know some people won't agree with me on this, but, honestly, that's not something to which I can relate. For me, if I'm helping an individual, I'm doing it because of the human connnection - even if it is one that originated in cyberspace- and no other reason. I would and have assisted organizations because of what they did, yes. But I really do not and cannot do the opinion leader thing.

That being said, we all have our own connections to other people and our own ways of viewing them.

And the idea of someone I know going through something scary like this truly saddens me and Mark and his family are in my thoughts and prayers and I'm glad that people are being as sweet and supportive as they've been.

In CofS, given a similar situation, you know, someone would have been wittering on about flows and out exchange and sending people to ethics. It would have been tiresome and it would have blocked efforts to reach out to our fellow human being.

Thanks for this, Magoo. Well said. The apple doesn't fall from the tree...:coolwink:

Your Daddy and Curt Gowdy were the announcers for Super Bowl I, the first Super Bowl...I was one of the tens of millions that were watching. Pitchin' Paul was a legendary College Quarterback (Hall of Fame), a Championship Winning Pro and one of my all time favorite football announcers. I spent many a Football Sunday (NFL) and New Years Eve (Orange Bowl) listening as your Daddy analyzed the game like few ever have or ever will.

I could be wrong, but I think you have to already have a paypal account to be able to send money to someone else via Paypal. Unless they changed it?

See, I already have a paypal account that I created years ago. So when I want to paypal money to somebody, I think (correct me if I'm wrong) they have to have one, too. So I go in and pull up my paypal account, then I stick in the email address of the person to whom I want to remit money.

I was able to paypal (or, as it's sometimes called, "lapyap") money the other day because I have a paypal acct and I guess Warrior does, too.

In any event, snail mail works perfectly well and you don't have to pay a fee or whatever the heck it is to paypal.

Yeah, you need a paypal account. But it certainly does work.

Cool, Face! I SOOO much appreciate any and all info re my Dad, he having
died when I was 22. Thank you for clarifying *that*. :)
Sooooooooooo fun you are one who heard him!! I love that.

FTR: My Dad died when I was 22....but I often could feel his spirit.
When I woke up and was pondering leaving..I had NO ONE to speak with about it.
I could hear my Dad saying::: "Doooooooooooooooo it"
For those who didn't know him, he was very courageous and also loved humor.
I nicknamed him "Magoo", after his tiny eyes like mine and his humor.
His Cardinal football # as a Quarterback was 44---and he tought me how to handle/face "bullies".
Thus:
ToryMagoo44 I keep as my nick. = D
Lastly, he was a very generous man, as MANY people have told me, written to me, etc
after he died, of how he'd helped them. Re Mark---he would have had a check off to him in a heart beat.
He cared...and he knew what mattered wasn't what you're going to do, it's what you DO do, now.
Hi Magoo :wave: :flowers::arose:
(He's had my back, as have some wonderful friends, all through this
adventure. Mark, for sure, is one of those friends).

PS: For those of you who don't believe in spiritual connections:
OH WELL. I respect your views...I'm happy with mine. :omg:

Too much personal info? Sorry.

I didn't mean to detract...but I loved what Face wrote.

Please remember this: When people need help...it isn't the volume of an amount.
It's the volume of people that actually chip in.
One time at Flag a friend was trying to get $$ for his book.
Being there, I was nearly broke.
So I made him a card---with TONS of quarters on it, saying I HOPED
each quarter brought him $1,000.

He later told me that touched him more than anything.
Who knew?
Sooooooooooooooooooo love to all, and again, sorry if my story was too personal. :flowers2:

My Daddy died when I was 11 years old, he is not dead, in fact he still lives to this day, but in L. Ron Hubbard's world and mine he is dead, devoid of any living characteristics.

Do I believe in spiritual connections? Nah, never will!

I read what you wrote on ESMBs chatboard, you have my deepest sympathy.

I think that is so beautiful and I am thrilled to hear what kind of man your dad was. I have no idea about the spiritual stuff. I respect your beliefs and personal experiences. They are not hurting anyone at all. I love that you use his nickname and number. Thank you so much for sharing!

My Daddy's number 007.

I'm finished, absolutely finished.

This IS scientology and it is worse than you can ever imagine.
