What's new

What if the cult was just Laffy's 8=3 project?

In the 'Rosicrucian' system, which is very similar to many schools, the lore has it that the work of the eighth grade in the Sepherothic system of grades is associated with Binah, and is called 'Magister Templi' or 'master of the temple'.

To advance beyond this grade you are suppose to (among other things) 'found a school of philosophy, science, or medicine'.

Hell, the Hub tried to do all three!

It was all just one of his grade homework assignments!

Do you think he passed?

Nope. I would not put LRH in there with the Rosicrucians. He is different in that he did not want to accomplish The Great Work for man as much as he wanted to be a successful businessman.

Where are you learning about Rosicrucian stuff?, are you in a sect or something or just read it on the net?

There just seem to be many more references to Rosicrucianism lately....it seems to be the basic foundation for many different offshoots as I surf the net. I did not know that the Golden Dawn and Madam Blavatsky and David Mayo and Free Masonry share the use of some common ideas. Some websites even bring the Knights Templar into this. As an American I am just seeing the name of this practice of the Croix Rosae come up a lot lately. Its not so prominent in the history of the states. :confused2: Although the practice seems to have quite some depth, even in the past of Portugal, I find the recreations of the churches today to look like stage props. It seems odd to me. It used to be more secretive, and cloistered and royal and mysterious and occult and humanitarian..... It has changed like the Masonic lodges have changed. I wanted to take a dip in the real mystery of it and not the generic version. Its hard to find the true story of it on the net. Even Christian Rosenkrutz may not be a real person per se. :confused2:

Mysterioius wells of initiation during the times when the religion was forming. These are in areas that were dominated by Moslems since the crusades and trace their origins to Knights Templar and Knights Hospitellier.

I'm a member of several fraternal orders. I was also a member of this for many years;

I've also read quite a few books on the subject, both as part of the confidential curriculum, and extra-curriculum.

As part of the initiated section of this school, I had access to material written by people like Dion Fortune, Paul Case, Ann Davies, and such that isn't normally available to people.

I neither confirm nor deny your speculation about C.R.

I'll just say you're an astute observer.

Rosicrucianism is also a private organization not claiming to be a religion. Scientology should be an exclusive private organization like the Rosicrucians or the Freemasons except religions get exempted from taxation and labor laws.

RC is not just one private org, you see. It's a bunch of competing ones.
