What's new

What is the first clue you see that some one is a scientologist ?

I haven't read this thread, so some of these may have been mentioned earlier.

First, if a person tries to yawn without opening their mouth--that's a dead give away. Most people cover their mouths with their hand. But if the person tries to yarn without opening their mouth and especially if they then look around to see if anyone saw them--they're a Scientologist.

Use of words and phrases like "best on the planet" or "in comm" or "not ethical" (used in the context of someone disagreeing with them).

The overuse of acknowledgements.

In conversation, blaming societal ills on psychiatry.

I also have found that people who are OTs tend to be condescending and talk down to others.

I love your list. There is a depth of hands-on experience required for you to come up with such poignantly telling tells.

Here's another. . .

You are seated next to a a guy on an airplane. The stewardess comes around and asks them if they would like a complementary magazine. The guy takes a magazine with a crisp: "THANK YOU!" Followed by: "Can i also get a complementary demo kit?"

The stewardess pauses, trying to replay and make sense of the question in her head--in case it was English being spoken.

Yeah, the guy has been going to a lot of events & briefings--so he doesn't know that study tech is not actually in wide use "on this planet".
