Voltaire's Child

Fool on the Hill
None of the answers quite fit.

Decent sci fi writer, especially when compared to many others of his era
Reasonably good synthesist of materials
Had some great ideas, and frequently knew good ideas when he saw them
Was able to get people to work with him, which says he had more charisma than he's credited for

Pity about the paranoia

Other than that, human. The hero of his own drama as most of us are.

IIRC, I think I'd set this one up so that a person could click more than one choice.

Dear degraded being aka DB,

As for your "I'm gay" revelation - :whocares: :pfft: :carryon: :tease: ...well, that is a TOTAL NON-ISSUE with me and 'most everyone here I expect  and I, being an "only child" consider you as true a brother as I have - assumin' that's OK by you. :coolwink: But, take that Pixie now...my feelin's for her is not exactly what I'd expect to feel for a female "sib"...maybe I oughta try "Uncle EP" since she's such a young filly and I'm kinda an OF. :old:Meanin' I've REACHED that "certain age" ye referred to.

Whadda you think, brother? :confused2:

Much Love,

EP aka Roy

P.S. I sure hope you read the "Serious Thread" DB! I'm sure it did/will do/done you a world of good.

Um, yes...I think so, ah, i mean, I'm not sure..err what?
Yeah that's nice Thank you.:)

My current viewpoint isn't there.
I seem to recall having each of these viewpoints at one time or another.
How about "All of the above and a whole squirrel-cage more"?
OK, I've decided... right now the closest is, he's nothing to me.

He was seriously flawed.

So am I.

That does not discount the flakes of genious in beween.

If I had thought of remedies that were greater, I could be more critical.

But I didn't write any book yet or solve someone elses problems.

I am big enough to admit when I am smaller than someone else.

T.O.

My thoughts....?

A braggart, a bully, a liar, a thief......and a deeply disturbed Man that was probably bipolar.

So good to see you again!! When and if you get a chance, would you please drop me a PM?

Bradbury, Heinlein, Clarke, Ellison etc. all exceeded him in quality.

I think he wrote some fairly good stuff. There are certainly much better science fiction writers around, living and dead. Orson Scott Card, Vernor Vinge, lots of others are probably quite a bit better. Bradbury and Ellison might not get my vote there, though.
