Yep. That's us, Reuben. The Victorian on Carroll Ave was a beautiful work of art. I still dream of it. There was a lot of filming done there. I still see it in the series Charmed, and see it in other films. Some bank was even using a pic of it on their promo.
Bloody COS! I'd have left them alone had they not come after me with their P.I.s and slimey lawyers.

We bought a house up in Elysian Heights, so far up a hill that I thought that Scn'ists had no cars that could get up there. Hahaha. It also had a high cement wall completely protecting it from the street. We installed cameras and motion detectors and all that BS. Some "church", eh?

We have been in Seattle Metro for about 20 years, and I miss all my friends in LA, and I rilly miss the sunny weather. The last few times that I have visited, I have gotten sinus infections from the pollution that hangs over the LA basin. I don't miss that nor the constant motion of earthquakes.

Hope you are doing and feeling well.

Sorry for the lapse in answering Chlng. I've only just found your post. I used to hang around with a couple from CCLA who lived, I think it was firstly on Mt. Washington. They were Iris Reaves and Simon Frankel. They were forced by the landlord to move, and they went to live up one of those flights of stairs up Silver Lake Blvd. Remember Laurel and Hardy's movie the Music Box, where they were pushing a piano up the stairs. Iris lived at the top of one of those flights.( Teviot st.)She left the COS and became a channel, and wrote a book...Spirit Guides. By then she was living in El Sereno. Last I heard she was (without Simon) living in Bellevue Washington. Oh well, how does that old saw go? You're only as big as the obstacles you overcome. Some of us are going to end up Gargantuan! best, Reuben:)

I don't remember those two that you mention. I do remember those stairs up Silver Lake. John Sanborn and Terri lived up there before they moved down to their place near the complex.

We bought a "cabin" up in the Elysian Heights which had been built by 2 LA Times reporters in the early 1900s. They would ride horses to work. We did some renovations, and I landscaped the acre and we sold it 3 years later for a shameful profit. We have bought 6 houses since then, and still own 3 of them. Can't play that game anymore. Were we to sell now we would lose approximately 35% of our equity. Aint it a bitch! Thanks to Spouse's job skills, we can hold onto them.

Spouse had left school when he bought the PR that school is a waste of time and the more formal education you get, the dumber you are. He became disabused of that idea a fter we left cos, and he enrolled in a Seattle Univ and got a degree that allowed him to do what he was already doing, but not qualified for the salary that matched his job skills. It was hard going for him ( he is Dyslexic, and he was older than the other students), but he did it, and graduated Cum Laude.

It would be interesting to have contact with Iris, if she is in Bellevue, she is my neighbor. I know a couple ex's in Bellevue, but no one named Iris. I reckon that I should check out some New Agey groups and cull for ex Scn'ists. I am not an 'extovert', and it is rare that I get involved with anyone, especially in a group setting.

Nice chatting with you Reuben.

Pretty pictures!

Ooooh, Shiney, I LOVE YOU!!! :happydance: :happydance::thankyou::hifive::buzzin:

I feel it's time for a change, even though I love my sweet little squirrel napping in the sun in a big strong tree (something I fervently wish I could do in real life:biggrin:, I used to climb trees a lot when I was a kid!) Ah, swaying in the breeze, just like being on a sailboat! :happydance:

Thank you Free, I didn't know how to do it...so here goes for changing up my avatar! :goodluck: Hope it works!
