Lol! I am like a junkie - I could sit there pressing the refresh button on that White House site all day! They'll look at their web stats and go, 'What is with this person in Australia??' I am starting to get worried about me ....

This all begs the question as to whether one group of criminals will put in ethics on another group of the same w/o being baited with financial gain more from the group seeking justice than they've already been receiving in monetary payoffs from the group that has long since been proven criminal. The criminality of the COS comes as no surprise to any level of government - WORLD FUCKING WIDE.

Tick-tock. Tick-tock.

:hourglass:

Like sands through the hourglass ... lol! This reminds me of when I was on staff and I used to buy Cherry Ripes to reward people for playing the birthday game, except this is kind of like the Alice in Wonderland 'unbirthday' game! Mmmmm ... now I'm craving Cherry Ripes. I guess when we get to 1,667 we'll be a third of the way there. So that's another 387 signatures away. I guess it took about 16 hours to get the last 330, so I'll just have to be patient ... and get a life!

WHITE HOUSE PETITION TO INVESTIGATE THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY

PLEASE SIGN THE WHITE HOUSE PETITION TO INVESTIGATE SCIENTOLOGY ABUSES, REQUEST EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO DO THE SAME, AND CROSS-POST THIS WHERE EVER YOU CAN.

The White House has just introduced “a new way to petition the Obama Administration to take action” on many issues. If a petition receives 5,000 signatures within 30 days “it will be reviewed by the Administration and an official response will be issued. And we’ll make sure that the petition is sent to the appropriate policy makers in the Administration.” Click on https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions

We believe that we can accumulate at least 5,000 signatures within 30 days: from Anonymous, Independent Scientologists, Free Zoners, former Church of Scientology members, “the old guard of critics,” concerned citizens and others.

Please help us do so by clicking on: Short URL: http://wh.gov/4Os and Save and Share this long URL: https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitio...ch-scientology-crime-fraud-and-abuse/L27wg021

Follow up emails and letters to the White House would also assist. https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/contact

Since late 2008 a significant number of former Church of Scientology senior staff members and executives have provided information to the FBI as internal whistle blowers. There is good reason to believe that Church of Scientology leader David Miscavige has used well placed Washington lawyers to cause the Department of Justice to delay and disrupt the FBI’s investigation. In the past, Miscavige’s Washington lawyers have included Monique Yingling, Esq. and her husband Gerald Feffer, Esq. who recently retired but who was a senior partner at the leading Washington law firm of Williams & Connolly. Previously he was at the Department of Justice as an assistant deputy attorney general for tax matters.

The content of the petition is self explanatory. A number of people have contributed to the content. Please excuse the density. The White House imposes a 120 character limit on the title and a 850 character limit on the content of the petition itself.

“We petition the Obama Administration to …”

EXAMINE THE GOVERNMENT’S FAILURE TO INVESTIGATE AND PROSECUTE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY CRIME, FRAUD AND ABUSE.

WHEREAS, the FBI has 300+ recent complaints of Scientology crimes and atrocities - human trafficking, forced abortions and civil rights violations, and the IRS has evidence of private inurement violations justifying INTERMEDIATE SANCTIONS, and existing evidence on hand meets RICO statutes, WE REQUEST that the White House investigate and employ a Special Prosecutor to:

EXAMINE why, with such an abundance of RICO evidence of Scientology being a corrupt and criminal entity, no law enforcement agency has moved forward;

INVESTIGATE undue favor and pressure brought by lawyers for Scientology leader David Miscavige to stop the investigations;

EXAMINE why around the world the “church” is investigated as a criminal entity while the U.S. Government does nothing?

Well, ok, so what do you suggest? Do you have an alternative idea? It's not going to just happen by itself IMHO, unless Miscavige goes Jonestown. But even then, I don't think he has that kind of hold on his followers. So that means somebody has to do something to stop the abuses, or just close our eyes and let Scientology behave how it wants. I believe that the public can bring sufficient pressure to bear to get a government to listen, and I think a lot of very brave critics, journalists and even politicians in Australia have demonstrated that this is the case. Much change has been motivated by public protest and demonstrations - just think of the sixties. Just think of the damned Boston tea party where they wasted all that perfectly good tea! But I digress .... Basically I do think there is nothing to lose by petitioning and everything to gain, as somebody else has already mentioned.
