Willow and Jaden Smith's bizarre interview

In a no-holds barred interview with the magazine, the kids revealed that they are home-schooled

Although, Jaden and Willow were once students of a private school founded by their parents that adhered to an unorthodox teaching method created by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, until the school shut down in 2013, according to ABC News. They seem to be happy that they are no more students of the school.

According to Jaden,
“School is not authentic because it ends. It’s not true, it’s not real. Our learning will never end. The school that we go to every single morning, we will continue to go to.”

http://jezebel.com/jaden-and-willow-smith-interview-is-exactly-as-weird-as-1659831795

The offspring of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith sat down with T Magazine and gave exactly the interview you imagine they would give. Willow, age 14 and Jaden, age 16, both have new albums coming out, so they spoke with Su Wu to really drive home the fascinating strangeness and the general "are they for serious" feeling that you associate with the Smith children.

The setting:

On a warm November morning, T sat down with Willow and Jaden on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean for their first-ever joint interview to discuss prana energy, the experience of time and the meaning of art.

Naturally.

They start things off with light, breezy topics:

Q.What have you been reading?

A. WILLOW: Quantum physics. Osho.

JADEN:
"The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life" and ancient texts; things that can't be pre-dated.

I have to say, I can see it both ways with the Smith children. On one hand, dear lord that is farcical and pompous. On the other, they seem like really weird, super creative teenagers who have been given absolute free reign to explore themselves and their interests.

Discussing their music:

What are you searching for in those pieced-together moments?

JADEN:
Honestly, we're just trying to make music that we think is cool. We don't think a lot of the music out there is that cool. So we make our own music. We don't have any song that we like to listen to on the P.C.H. by any other artist, you know?

WILLOW:
That's what I do with novels. There're no novels that I like to read so I write my own novels, and then I read them again, and it's the best thing.

JADEN:
Willow's been writing her own novels since she was 6.

To recap: Willow Smith, age 14, writes her own novels and then reads her own novels. Those are the only novels she reads.

Anyone know how long the Smith kids attended an Cult/LRH/scientology school....prior to 2013?

Were the Smith kids born into scientology?

When did Will Smith get recruited into the cult? When was Jada recruited into the cult?

I had heard on the Cult Rumor Line.....that Will Smith was being targeted for recruitment around....1999.

Also heard that David Beckman....the British Soccer star was being recruited around the same time....

That's a feedback loop.

But what could possibly go wrong?

The Science of Willow & Jaden Smith

If you haven’t already, you have to read the New York Times interview with Willow, 14, and Jaden, 16, Smith. It’s a mind f-ck. It’s such a mind f-ck that I don’t know even know how to analyse it. Except to say that for all that the Smith family does to directly address speculation that they’re heavily involved in Scientology, you have to wonder what part Scientology has played in their development. Some. But it’s also fame. It’s also fame-entitlement.

Middle class kids simply don’t have the luxury to go to regular school as an experiment and then stop going to regular school – in favour of a school inside their heads? I’m not actually sure. They don’t specify but they do say it’s not “normal” school – because they don’t find it to be “authentic”. Willow and Jaden Smith will never need “normal” school because they’re already set up. And thus they’ve been encouraged by two parents to go and … find their dreams, or something.

What they’ve found is… a new science?

They talk a lot of science and, like, metaphysics. And something called Prana energy. Which is…how babies breathe?

Is that what Xenu is all about? To remove the alien toxins from our systems so that we can return to the pure state we were in when we were in the womb?

Sounds like "other practices" to me.

Time for an Ethics Interview? LOL

Are you serious? Well, it may depend very much on what the novel is about, isn't it?

This is my 501. posting, and I just felt like doing something stupid. :happydance: HOW stupid that was ... we will see. Not all too soon, but eventually.

That article is bizarre. They sound like stoners although it is unlikely they take drugs.

There is a saying: it takes one generation to make the money, one to maintain it and one to spend it. I don't think the Smith's are going to make it that far for two reasons:

1) Those kids have just painted a sign over their heads - "Rich and stupid". They will be attracting the best con artists in LA, if Scientology doesn't get the money first.
2) These kids probably have a limited run as artists too. Their fans will probably grow up. They won't. Spoiled rich kids might not attract the same following in 10 years when all of their fans are working 2 jobs.

Here are the 7 most memorable quotes from the interview:
1 - Willow and Jaden on Time
"I mean, time for me, I can make it go slow or fast, however I please, and that’s how I know it doesn’t exist," Willow said.
"It’s proven that how time moves for you depends on where you are in the universe. It’s relative to beings and other places. But on the level of being here on earth, if you are aware in a moment, one second can last a year. And if you are unaware, your whole childhood, your whole life can pass by in six seconds," Jaden said.
2 - Jaden on Apples and Duality
"Because your mind has a duality to it. So when one thought goes into your mind, it’s not just one thought, it has to bounce off both hemispheres of the brain. When you’re thinking about something happy, you’re thinking about something sad. When you think about an apple, you also think about the opposite of an apple. It’s a tool for understanding mathematics and things with two separate realities," Jaden said.
3 - Willow on Her Classic Hit, "Whip My Hair"
"'Whip My Hair' was a great thing. When I look back I think, “Wow, I did so much for young black girls and girls around the world. Telling them that they can be themselves and to not be afraid to be themselves.” And I’m doing that now but in a whole different way, coming from source energy and universal truths," she said about her and her brother's new music.
4 - Willow on Writing Her Own Novels
"There are no novels that I like to read so I write my own novels, and then I read them again, and it’s the best thing," Willow said.
"Willow’s been writing her own novels since she was 6," Jaden said.
5 - Willow on Her and Jaden's Sound
"Me and Jaden just figured out that our voices sound like chocolate together. As good as chocolate tastes, it sounds that good," she said.
6 - Jaden and Willow on Breathing and Babies
"When babies are born, their soft spots bump: It has, like, a heartbeat in it. That’s because energy is coming through their body, up and down," Jaden said. "It’s prana energy because they still breathe through their stomach. They remember. Babies remember."
"When they’re in the stomach, they’re so aware, putting all their bones together, putting all their ligaments together. But they’re shocked by this harsh world," Willow said.
7 - Willow and Jaden on Education, Including Driver's Ed
"School is not authentic because it ends. It’s not true, it’s not real. Our learning will never end. The school that we go to every single morning, we will continue to go to," Jaden said. "Kids who go to normal school are so teenagery, so angsty."
"They never want to do anything, they’re so tired," Willow added.
"You never learn anything in school. Think about how many car accidents happen every day. Driver’s ed? What’s up? I still haven’t been to driver’s ed because if everybody I know has been in an accident, I can’t see how driver’s ed is really helping them out," Jaden continued.
Bonus - Jaden on the Future
"I have a goal to be just the most craziest person of all time. And when I say craziest, I mean, like, I want to do like Olympic-level things. I want to be the most durable person on the planet," Jaden said.

I wish them well. I think it's just their attempt to sound deep or profound.... On a different level from "normal" people or something. I'm sure their parents encourage this shit lol.

That appears to be right on track.
Gawker agrees with you:
The following is an interview in which Jaden Smith—son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, brother of Willow—says that his goal in life is "to be the most craziest of all time." Everything he says previous to that statement will convince you that no human has ever conceived of a more achievable aspiration.

:tease:

No, I would say they sound only slightly more crazy than the average esoterics whacko. I haven't read all the comments to these articles, but while most of them are astonished, shocked, or are giving some anti-Scientology message, I would bet the two have their fans - maybe elsewhere, where the negative commenters aren't such a majority. And in these enlightened corners, I fully expect comments like "ohh these wonderful indigo children" :screwy: - or whatever spoiled brats :hissyfit: and undiagnosed lunatics :dizzy: are called in this subculture by now. :duh:

:dieslaughing:
