Willow and Jaden Smith's bizarre interview

stubborn rebel sheep!
Don't your kids say "this is my favorite kind of spaghetti on the planet"?

My kid used to say:

It's the best ever kind of rice and beans on the planet, right here , right now, and unprecedented in the time track of this universe

And

This is true

i disagree.

i love that these kids have such open minds and are reading things that everyone should.

selfawareness, physics, osho, energy...thats 'life'.

non traditional doesn't mean cult or hippi yuppi

may the next generation bring far more self awareness and wisdom than the present.

good luck willow and jaden.

That's one way of seeing this.

Perhaps I'm pessimistic but what I saw was just the opposite. Instead of open-mindedness I see them as close-minded and narrow-scoped. Also, incredibly non-original in that it's spewed from what their folks have interpreted for them.

Ron had terms for this. He called it "being interesting" as opposed to "being interested".

When I read this these kids already have all the answers. They are oh so wise and advanced and really want you to get that point.

They are so busy being interesting - how could they possibly learn anything?

It's all about...ME and the incredible drama of how interesting I am.

Can't you see the arrogant criticism of everything?

It's the opposite of refreshing enlightenment and it's more of the dullard/bore thing.

Yawn and meh.

I think you nailed it quite nicely. I get frustrated with new age babble and celebrities desperate tryingly to seem intelligent and wise, when they can't be bothered with the inside of a classroom or I suppose reading novels they others (besides themselves) write, but I think you captured their essence and arrogance in this interview very well.

Btw., that guy is great. He has these "Five Stupid Things about ..." videos about practically all our familiar woo themes, and much more. Here's his channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/stevelikes2curse/videos

EDIT:
I just watched many of them, but found this gem only now. Enjoy. :dieslaughing:

I don't know about you exes, but that phrase pings my Co$ bullshit meter. Kids generally say "in the world" not "on the planet". And durable? Like smashing one's name into history?

This is a wonderful example of Helluvahoax's brilliant discovery of Scientology's "Law of Planets", which, IIRC states that any outlandish,

ridiculous, idiotic, and moronic statement in Scientology is automatically presumed to be all-wise, knowing, and imbued with whole-track gravitas when it is

preceded or accompanied by the phrase "on this planet."

Example: An OT 3 says "This is the best applesauce I ever had!"

versus

The same OT 3 saying "This is the best applesauce I ever had on this planet!"

See the difference?

It's sometimes hard to get where celebs are coming from. For one thing, you only see what the reporters and paparazzi are showing you. And the context in which it's presented.

I find the young Smiths unusual, but, hey, not like I've ever met them. I don't really know what they're like.

[Blind Gossip] Both of the parents in this Hollywood family are big celebrities. Combined, they have had success in music, television, and films.

Their child/ren wants to make an important announcement on social media about their sexuality. They went back and forth with the parents about it. As liberal as the parents are, though, they decided to discourage the child/ren from doing so. We were a little surprised about that, as they have been incredibly loose in the past about letting their kids express themselves and make their own decisions in life.

However, in this case the answer was “No.” Well, not exactly “No.” It’s more like, “Wait.” The approximate time frame for waiting? Right now, it’s two years. It will be interesting to see if the child/ren abide by their parents’ request… or if they do what they want!

Parents:

Child/ren that want to announce:

.............

Pretty much 100% of the guesses are Willow and Jaden Smith.

Announcing that they are going to make an announcement about their sexuality amounts to the same thing as just saying they are gay/bisexual.

I tend to be of the belief that kids are definitely not open minded, rather closed minded albeit on different tracks to what we think.

Kids tend to be of black and white thinking and often do not have the capacity to see shades of gray. Their thinking often tends to be aligned with their peer group and any dissidence within it is generally not tolerated.

They toe the party lines because many of them have no wish to be disconnected from or ridiculed by their peers.

I am not saying this is true of all of them, just generalising. There are those brave few who are prepared to step over those lines and will stand up and be counted.

I am also saying this is not a judgement of them, just that most of them lack life experiences and shades of gray do not fit in with their way of thinking. It is something we learn as we go along and learn that people do not really fit into tidy little files and descriptions. A lot of senior folks have already learned this (if they are of a type who have awareness of life), but many of us dismiss it thinking they are getting a bit senile as time goes on... It really says that life is a constant learning experience. A lot of others have also ventured through life with closed minds as well. So we are not all of a high level of awareness.

As an example I can remember telling my aunt when I was about 10, that all old folks over 60 should be put down. All, except, of course, my favourite aunt. She reminded me of this when I was about 23. Man, I was so embarrassed about it. But I was also very young and had no other frames of reference to call upon to realise that my thinking was seriously flawed.

As I approach 60 myself, I think I now have a viable counter argument for that one....:)

It is also good that kids are saying things, it shows they are thinking and participating in the world. Given time, many of them will modify and temper the way they think. Part of growing up, I think.

As long as they don't go into politics. Then they'll never grow up!

Also Scientology (and celebrity status) will fuck up their ability to think properly big time.
