A rather boring interview with Gio. He starts talking about Scientology at 42:50 & puts out the same old PR bullshit that it's only about "reading a book & applying it to your life.. that's all it is".

At 1:14:50, he talks about Scientology's aversion to psychiatry & claims that the cult is not entirely against psychiatry or psychology; only parts of it. He says LRH would approve of some parts of it if it was helpful. Gio needs to make appointment with his Ethics Officer. :duh:

I interacted with Vonnie and his then-wife Mariah a little bit back in the late 90s when I worked at Wiseman & Burke in LA. His father and mother were devout Scientologists. I didn't know his sister Marissa at all, but I knew his sister Gina when we were both in the SO. Back then, over several years he got little auditing, and certainly did no auditor training that I know of.

I would guess that he is being sincere in his statements about psychiatry (I haven't watched any of the video) and that this is what he believes after limited study, rather than he is deliberately lying.

Who can tell how his or her past actions may have affected the present?

In 1971 I was a newly appointed EO at CCLA. Al Ribisi came to see me about the trouble he was having with members of his musical group People.
I don't recall exactly what the problems were, or with whom, but after he finished telling me, I blurted out "Why don't you join the Sea Org?"

A light in Al's face went on and he was VGI's. It was one of those "I never thought of that before!" moments. He soon was in the SO at CCLA and thanked me later for suggesting it.

Gay, later Gay Ribisi, joined the SO a couple of years later. I knew her a little while she was on Excalibur doing her intro training. Would Al and Gay never have met unless they were on staff together in the SO at CC?

Doubt he thanked you later.

I worked with Al for a number of years when I was in the SO. He was a print broker; owned a company named LA Publishing (still does, from what I can tell).

I was pressured by my seniors to get him back into the SO.

He avoided my calls.

When I finally got a hold of him I asked him what he was doing.

He said, "I'm hiding under my bed taking LSD."

:p

(Al was always a crackup....)

"I think at the end of the day, Hubbard would say, if it helps you, great!" So that's what Hubbard would say about the evil psychs, is it? LOL

I listen to Mark Maron a lot and I remember that interview. I think Giovanni is probably a marginal Scientologist.

He has a lot to lose by saying negative or "truthful" things about Scientology.

His whole world is tied into it and his life is doing well. Why would he want to rock the boat? It seems OK for him. What is in it for him to alienate all his family and friends by poking around the internet? He has nothing to gain.

He just wants to make movies and have a good time. He is not an activist.

Agreed! It's "all good" for celebrities like Ribisi.

Until it's not.

Scientology is like having a whole bunch of extra assistants, gophers, sycophants, listeners, pr people, handlers, advisors and a 24/7 personal hand-holding, cheering section--none of which you have to pay for! What's not to like about the "wins"?

SUCCESS STORY

"I heard and read a lot about alleged slave labor camps, kidnappings, prisons, psychological torture and physical beatings that the Scientology staff supposedly endure. I can attest without any doubts or reservations that I have never been imprisoned, tortured or physical beaten by staff. In fact, staff members custom painted my motorcycle, pimped out my SUV with a few hundred thousand dollars worth of free labor and cool stuff and also saved me over a half-million dollars customizing my airplane hanger. None of them were tortured and I have FNing exam reports and Success Stories from every single one of them after they completed their "FINISHING MR. CRUISE'S VIP PROJECT LEAVING SEC CHECK". (-Tom Cruise- Humanitarian, Philanthropist & author of the soon-to-be released book "Flowing Power To Power--A movie star's guide to getting small beings to give you things for free!"

Like I say, it's all good for Scientology celebrities. Until the moment the cult decides you are an enemy that needs to go through thought-reformation OR destroyed with threats, lies, black ops and fair game. Once the COS (Crimewave of Scientology) turns its tech against the super upstat Scientologist (e.g. celebrity, whale, OT, Clear, Power FSM, elite Senior Management Exec, et al) then the super upstat discovers what Scientology really is. And that moment is too late to avoid being attacked by a Scn Fatwa.

Ask Paul Haggis, Lisa Marie Presley, Jason Beghe, Nicole Kidman, Katie Holmes and others who dared to disagree with Hubbard's fanatical cult zombies.

Well, I know Vonnie and other Scn celebrities who all dutifully parroted the cult's party line.

I've been at homes, events and private dinner parties with such elite Scn celebs. While it may sound like a sweeping, unfair generality, I can confidently state that I found the entertainment "stars" in Scientology to be an extremely stupid, self-centered, nervous lot. When any "uncomfortable" subject came up, they instantly stressed out and did everything in their power to change the conversation.

Wogs call it insecurity.

In Scientology terms, not one of the much-worshipped cult celebrities can actually do:

* TR-O. They can't confront many, many subjects.

* TR-O Bullbaited. Fuggedaboutit! Scientology "handlers" do not allow a celebrity to get bullbaited in real life. Why do you think they a standing right next to the celebrity at every single moment?

* GRADE 0. (abiilty to talk to anyone about anything). LOLOLOLOLOLOL. Are you f*cking kidding?! They can't talk about THOUSANDS of "forbidden" subjects. They can't talk to THOUSANDS of "forbidden" (SP) beings.

* DATA SERIES. They can't spot any outpoints inside Scientology. They aren't aware of any "situations" in Scientology. As far as they are concerned, "It's beautiful!" (see Travolta's recent analysis of Scientology in response to the movie "GOING CLEAR", which he refused to see)

Wait, I think I am getting bored & tired of listing out "things Scn Celebrities cannot do that they attested they can do". When I have an extra 25 hours to kill I might come back and complete this post! LOL
