You Don't Know If It Works

A problem I sometimes have is that I will remember reading some bit of tech on some training course I did lo these many eons ago and not remember the name of the HCOB or PL or tape.

Scientology can help you with that. It's called being Clear. Perfect recall.

All 'covert hostility' aside, if anyone re-posts this post and you accidently see it (loop-hole in the ignore-button concept) when you speak of "remembering reading some bit of tech", relative to your 'new' perception or understanding of L. Ron, in hindsight, do you still imagine everything Hubbard said was tech, was tech? Or do you now belive some was tech and some was nonsense? Or does such a thing as nonsensical-tech, or technical-nonsense exist, for you?

As bizarre as the question may appear to be to lurkers, it is perfectly appropriate to ask when dealing with a self-avowed and proud, 'Scientologist'.

P.S. for lurkers here, Fluffy has put Mojo on Fluffys ignore list, and told the whole world about it. Well, at least the ESMB world. CNN didn't catch it.

It's true about what can happen when you are new. I was scared stiff to post, and luckily everyone was nice to start off. I have , of course, gotten bolder since then.....:whistling:.

But the first time I was yelled at so to speak, I pushed out my lower lip and my eyes looked like a whipped puppy....

then I got mad...and the rest is history....

Now, although I am still new compared to many, I feel I have tougher skin now and it's OK to not have everyone agree with me or to 'validate' me....at least i am allowed to express myself here which I am very thankful to Emma for.

Exactly, I used to, and I've said this before, post, click shut down, and run out of the room! :duh: :nervous: :duh: Yes, it's a relief when you finally settle in for sure, I used to bawl like a baba.. like so.. :hurt: :hissyfit: ..... :faceslap:

And no, one has spent enough time seeking validation, no more, one needs to learn to validate oneself first, only then in my humble opinion is it possible to truly validate another from the heart. It's true!! However I'm saying that now.. tomorrow it could be.. :catfight: :splat: .. after all, we are HUMAN!! :happydance: Yeah!!! Three cheers for normal human emotions!!! :D

OK Fluffybristles, Pix or GTFO!! :hysterical: Hey listen, I'm starting to say this in real life!! :omg: :eyeroll: I just don't know what I'm going to do with me.. :D

Well I'm not sure about everyone's friend BG but I do try. I don't expect everyone to like me and that's fine, I respect that as long as people don't attack for no reason. But thank you, it's true.. now.. I'm in my bikini, on way for swim.. then back to play more music and hang out in my weekend hang out thread and hopefully by then be ready to completely collapse in my little Pixie bed...deep .. deep in the forest.. :D

Geez yeah FTS, I hadn't actually thought about it that way before but you've just answered a question I've had about myself since leaving the cult and why I was always so defensive with 'authority figures'.. etc.. cos in the back of my mind, I felt I was being 'censored'.. :omg: :omg: The fear gets a little less each day I come on this board whether I'm talking about it or not, it's a huge healing realizing things about you through others, it's wonderful, and everyone has an effect on everyone else for whatever reason and it's all interconnected, it's wonderful really, just like a kalidascope..

Here is my theory and 2c.

We all got into Scientology for a reason and I'd say a large percentage of us got in wanting to change something about ourselves that we didn't like. Call it a "ruin" or a personality trait or whatever.

Considering what we paid and what we lost and how long we stayed, we must have wanted it handled a WHOLE LOT. We had some wins, saw wins in others, heard the success story speeches and read Hubbard who absolutely assured us that our "cases" would be cracked.

We had very strong hopes.

I'd love to get some honest answers to this but it's highly unlikely. I'd almost bet my bank balance (granted it's not much) that most here, including FZers were "dog PCs". This is, they didn't get what they wanted or were promised out of sessions, they red tagged, didn't run smoothly, needed lots of correction, couldn't reach EPs, complained about results etc. Even while those around us were "winning" in session, we were not. For the record, I was a dog PC :)

Why do I think this? Because if you were getting even 50% of what you were promised out of grades and OT levels you wouldn't be here reading this post. I know I wouldn't be. If Scientology even went CLOSE to delivering its promised gains, I wouldn't be here. I'd happily put up with all their shit if it meant I could handle my ruins and become a super human.

So some of us left disenchanted and realised that Scientology technology just doesn't deliver its promises. Yet SOME people hang onto that hope that one day, they WILL fix that thing about themselves that ruins their lives. So they try the FZ.

The desire to get "fixed" is so incredibly strong in some people. And this is what I hate most about Scientology. They exploit the very human condition of self doubt and self loathing, they exaggerate it out of all proportion, invent Scientology maladys (out int for example) and sell you a cure. The cure (when it does work) only works because you bought the problem in the first place. And when the cure doesn't work, they try to sell you a different cure to a dfifferent invented problem.

Eventually people leave, for various reasons, usually involving abuse (mental, physical or financial) and find themselves in terrible "case shape". They have totally bought the invented problems that Hubbard told us we had. We are "so far down the dwindling spiral", we are DBs, we are low toned, riddled with overts, full of BTs, crushed by engrams etc etc. We heard this over and over and over and we believed it. So when we leave the suppressive church, where do we go to get ourselves "fixed"? :confused2:

If only people realised they are perfect. They are exacly what they are supposed to be, warts and all.

But they don't, and they continue to try to get that "fix" that they still think they need. They always DID think they needed it, but along came Hubbard and compounded it, and in effect made them right.

When people get a sniff of a "cure" they will do almost anything to get it. If they still hold out hope that something or someone will fix them, or complete them, you will have a hard time getting them to give that up.

I'm bumping this thread because I think what Emma said in this excellent post back in 2008 is still pertinent today and deserves to be seen by people who weren't here then.
