First you have to host the image somewhere online. Most people use Botophucket or similar file-hosting places. Google knows lots.

Then in the reply box, click the image tag, the square yellow one, and copypasta in the address of the image you just got hosted somewhere.

You can host it here at ESMB and have a thumbnail in your post instead of the whole image, then clicking on it gives the original image.

And if byte301 gets this, he's going to be even more drunk with power than he ever was and we'll never hear the end of it and the forum will be filling up with pictures in no time. I think it's time we stopped encouraging him too much.

The problem is that [ and ] are 'special characters' that tell the software here that 'something is happening. IMG is what tells the software *what* is happening. /IMG is what tells the software that whatever was happening is over with.

It's technical

Assume though, that [ = { then I can type the actual way to put an image in if you want, otherwise the board software will try to 'act' on it:

or:

If you 'reply' you will see what's 'different' and why one shows up, and the other doesn't. (because [ does not equal { )

Well thanks for that Zinj, I'll have to read that a few times cos it does appear I'm just not wired for computer..er.. thingys, but I will read it a few times and try to get it, as I've said before Zinjifar, my own personal 'talents' ly elsewhere..

Pixie, I signed up at Photobucket. Then I uploaded the picture from My Pictures. Then I copied the url, came back here and hit the yellow square above the reply box. A new box pops up asking for the url which I pasted and hit ok. Then I went back to reply, previewed it (since the url was now in the reply box) to make sure it was right and bob's ur uncle!!!

I have learned so much from you people. You have no idea how much I appreciate your patience and helpfulness!
