Margaret Heffernan: Dare to disagree (TED Talk)

Here's some great management tech that is missing from Scientology and other cults.

Of course it would not be allowed within Scientology as disagreement is really never allowed and must instead be "handled".

Margaret Heffernan is the woman in this video which has over 2 million views over on Ted.com.

It's very much worth 13 minutes of your time to watch it!

Most people instinctively avoid conflict, but as Margaret Heffernan shows us, good disagreement is central to progress. She illustrates (sometimes counterintuitively) how the best partners aren't echo chambers -- and how great research teams, relationships and businesses allow people to deeply disagree.

Yeah, Hubtard had a big problem with disagreement. He saw disagreement as ATTACK. And trained his clones to see the same. Disagreement is NOT an attack. But someone writes a book disagreeing with him or his creation, and the clones are taught to "attack the attacker" and "ruin them utterly".

Disagreement is NOT an attack.

Margaret Heffernan gave another TED talk as well to the one above, maybe even more applicable to Scientology and Scientologists.

But not applicable to just them, unfortunately. It seems to be an all too common trait, either a human trait, or one that's deeply ingrained into many of our cultures, maybe as a way to avoid conflict or for other purposes.

Actually, "Disagree!" was the big point of the Philadelphia Doctorate Course.

Seriously, that was a huge epiphany for me and was the "permission" I gave myself to slip out the back door.

It was one of the best rationalizations I EVER came up with!

Just sayin'.
