Given that I played in the LATE 60s, I saw some of those "improvements" like forearm pads you could use as clubs, full face masks so you could REALLY spear someone in the sternum, the neck rolls and a few others. And yes, despite the pain in my neck which is constant, I loved it too. :coolwink:

Yep...Hand and forearm "Rip-up Pads", "Cages", etc. were a great invention. :eyeroll: O & D Interior Line was a sure enough nasty business. :coolwink:

I could come up with that rip pad right under the other guy's chin. That'd jack him up for sure. We hit the pecs and front delts pretty hard in those days so we could rip harder. You had to be in shape if you were gonna take a hit from me in those days. Softies got squashed.:omg:
