I guess it all depends on your point of view.

Jokes aside though, how many women's lives would be improved if they had (more?) sex with grumpy old men? That's both the obverse of and the problem with that argument.

I was thinking in terms of more sex with a pleasing person for one's taste more than of any particular age bracket for a partner.

I do think grumpy old men would be better off with more sex ( away games, not pocket pool! ) & grumpy old women would be less less - not more - grumpy with a partner that pleased them.

. . . . . .maybe I should google me some references before I keep making a sticky mess of this ?

Excellent post Gib!! Also, kudos to Maria for originating the line which Gib has commented on above.
If there is a corollary to your observation, Gib, that the more people talk politics, the more they are in need of love
then Leon and I both fall into the camp of the horniest of horned toads!
Lakey

I'd do get thorny but I really try to stay as far away from being any kind of horny as is possible. :)

What a novel idea. History as an outlet for sexual frustration.

I wonder why that idea never caught fire?

I'd work on finding some makeup to deal with the toad part (joke). the rest is being human. LOLOL.

Well, that figures, Gismo, because I haven't seen you participate in any of the political debates around here. That is the new stable datum of the day, if one is in political debates on ESMB he/she is in need of love. Look at that word "stable", there are 2 major meanings, one having to do with being rock solid and the other having to do with where horses live. Either definition seems to work equally well in describing horny people, especially when they are old in years. BTW Gizmo, I'm just kidding around, please don't take offense.

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

I'll make this my last post on the matter too.

Firstly, both Lakey and Sheila seem to have misunderstood what I wrote. I said the Brits were masters at organizing wars and did this in the running of their empire. Examples would be the 1899 South African War and also the first world War, which, if you read up on the latest research on this matter, was planned and organised and set into motion in London. They create chaos in an area and then set about handling the chaos by getting themselves into the driver's seat in that area thereafter. David Icke talks at length of this practise. The USA has been doing the same for may years. They learnt this habit from the Brits.

<snip>

Thank you.

Leon, mine wasn't so much a disagree as a question of how you arrived at the Americans imitating Great Britain's war techniques. It certainly didn't happen in America's colonial times when America was primarily British and afterwards - well, I just don't know. Its an interesting question, though - whose war techniques did America copy? Or did America come up with quite a bit of it on its own?

I also thought you gave the British Empire far too much credit compared to some of the other countries that have been leading powers. China, for example, or Rome - both of which had a far longer historical run and far more massive empire than Great Britain.

I read some interesting information last year about England's initial arrival to Australia and NZ, for example. The focus and purpose was primarily to find more and better woods and other ship-building materials, something I would never have guessed. The Brits were really into their Navy. The British fleets spanned the oceans of the world and were the envy of every country. They worked hard for decades to map out the entire world and had the best maps. Mapping tek was certainly a big part of the British contribution to worldwide communication and, whatever else one has to say about it, it was Great Britain that made the concept of worldwide communication and trade a realistic possibility. So as far as that goes, yes, Britain certain did a great deal to shape the world to what it is today.

well, I guess the party started a bit early on the hits celebration for the thread. And to think, I was entirely sober. Cheers to Shiela and Gizmo for breaking out with the witty repartee. Cheers.

:batseyelashes:

So is this spin the bottle or the "never have I ever" game? Either way, sure sounds more fun than withhold pulling!!!!! It can't be spin the bottle. So I'll start with never have I ever.....

"The verbal game is started with the players getting into a circle. Then, the first player says a simple statement starting with "Never have I ever". Anyone who has done what the first player has not must drink.Play then continues around the circle, and the next person makes a statement. An additional rule – uncommon, but beneficial to the game –is that if there is no one taking a drink, then the one who said the particular "I have never…" must take a drink. This rule often forces the players to strategize more and makes for less disposable/pointless suggestions." wikipedia.

I will go first.

I have never kissed a horse on the lips (dreams don't count but I don't remember any such occasion anyway!) LOL.

I've found discussing politics is much like discussing religion in that rarely if ever does anyone's opinion change but can
friendships might get changed.

Never considered an opinion as a " stable datum" but I'll take a look at that possibility if it happening. Could be a rock or horse shit _ I just don't know ( or really care ) :)

If a rock were horse shit or horse shit were a rock I'm not very sure how stable that particular datum would hold up to the level of scrutiny post are expected to meet.

BTW, I take no offense at anything anyone posts in a chat room. Isn't it all in fun ?

Look on wikipedia for game rules, or we can make it up.

Lakey, I feel it is my pleasure to turn the thread from politics to more fun (and juvenile) endeavors. Cheers! (I kid with all of you because I love!)

Who's turn is next to respond to my "I never"? I love this because it's a sort of OPPOSITE of withholds. Plus it involves fun and drink and friends.

Well, Gizmo, unlike some of the others here, I'm not very well-versed in politics or history so often have little of importance to contribute, however, I read and digest what others write and it has helped my understanding a great deal. It can be an explosive subject because there are so many views, some completely left and others completely right, but they all have some information to contribute and to be frank, the subject itself is all the more fascinating because of the different views.

Well, it is a hot topic !

Ah, a worldwide program to relieve sexual frustration !

Do it in groups !

Raise sexual participation ?

Slide into bliss ?

Dip into glory ?

Taste the goodness!

Lovers unite !

So many ways to around the world with this !

I sort of stay away from it for either it is history that can't be changed but more so I'd have more interest in the good things happening right now & the wonderfulness we can see in our future.

.... I'm going for fun & love. .... while plenty of people are going to prefer to discuss the death & disaster of the 5 o'clock 'news' - more power to 'em, it just isn't my cup of tea these days.

Do I tilt windmills ? Probably - but I ride such a pretty unicorn !

My vote - which only matters to me - is everybody makes up their own rules as they go !

Great Idea! Especially since we have no drink and or clue as to who the players are. Game could go on indefinitely, for days or weeks (or seconds) and I'd have no idea if we are still playing. Lovely. (I might still play!)

Maria Cuervo, you once allowed me a glimpse of a current pic of you. So let me give you an honest, professional opinion.

Not long ago, I had a clothing store and found and used models. I had a good eye for the good ones I could hire cheaply - in fact, mine was the first complete modelling shoot of a young lady who later went on to be Miss Universe Australia. I paid her in clothing at the time. No kidding. (I still have the pix, but we reached an agreement when she was competing to keep these private.)

So let me tell you this -

You have wonderful facial bone structure - the model type. You are in great shape, have energy and vitality and look and think young.

Those minor imperfections are silliness. If they bother you enough to affect your self-esteem, please PM me, because it's far too easy to resolve than to ever, ever spend another moment wasting your time feeling less beautiful than you actually are. I'm not talking about any sort of surgery, either.

Honestly.

We may not always agree, Maria, but you at least know one thing about me as a fact - I will always be straight with a person about exactly what I think. (Though I have my days when I might be too cranky to think straight, lol!) So there you have it.

Thank you Sheila. I don't remember mentioning anything but it's always nice to look good. The only things I am focused on now would be to redo a tiny bit of dental that only I can notice as well as remove a brow wrinkle. I am sure I could find a few more things to do.....but since I don't live in California or move in sexy circles.....LOL.

Of course when my art work starts to sell I'll have to hire a stylist, a publicist, and so on so I can appear at my art shows looking to kill. I am really giving up philosophy even though it doesn't seem so, simply because it's not as fun as art. (Philosophers can be a bit boring!) But unfortunately I have a good memory so I remember more of it than I care too. Well, at cocktails at least if needed I can come up with something from Somerset Maughum or respond if someone mentions Max Beckman's art. :)

Oh by the way, I had two lovely parrots myself for a few years. They are alive still and with a friend, also a former scientologist. I may be the only person to ever get parrots out of Venezuela legally. LOL. I got them right from the jungle when I was setting up the Venezuela org. That is a fun story. They were already tame and on a rope, I just brought them to America. But anyway the yellow fronts were George and Mabel. I had them throughout my (later) time on staff. It was a really bit of work to clip their nails, had to wrap them in towels. They learned to talk a lot and I admit I spoiled them whenever I was home. Like they would sit at the breakfast table on Sunday mornings and try to get at the butter and so on. They were so much fun.

I want to get one soon actually. But won't until I can be a responsible friend to the bird. Plus what would I do if I had to travel? I'd probably adopt one or more if I could. But first I would need to have a dedicated room for them. And, It would be better if I lived in a tropical place (with a large yard or screened area) where they could be outside. My father raised all sorts of birds and I am familiar with it all from being around it. In Florida so many birds would be released from quarantine and they ended up living at the marina and in the trees thereabouts. We had a largish acre lot near the ocean and it was filled with historical trees so they'd come there and my father fed them. They were sooooo smart.

Whenever I feel myself having an urge to delve into politics I sublimate that, realize that the truth is that I might be in need of a romantic encounter.

Ann Coulter is dramatically representive of both your posts. Gotta love this hyper jilted/ jilting at the altar woman. :hattip:

Awwww, Maria! You love the birds too! :biglove: Great story.

(and now I have the two beak & feather babies who arrived again that I can't get near enough to take to rescue aviaries or to a vet and they are crying on the back deck. Sigh)

There are simple, inexpensive, non-surgical, non-botox ways in the industry is all I'm saying. PM me when/if you want to start planning.

I'm glad you're stepping out into the world and braving it again with what you love, Maria, and wish you all happiness and success in your endeavors, wherever they may lead.

(PS - I never took any money from the Miss Universe Australia lady for the pics. I wanted her to succeed and was proud as a mother when she did.)
