But not sure why I have to judge someone that way....I mean, Suri is related to Tom and she is not a Scientologist. So why is Carmelo, because he is friends with a still-in suddenly become evil? Aren't some of us here grieving because they have family in? And so are we saying that being 'connected' to them indicates we approve? By default? And if Scn is for disconnection, should we be? These are my valid questions.

I want to know, because there are those who have family in Scientology, or friends, and they don't want to abandon those people. They want to be there for those people.

So how is it that renouncing people who are brainwashed helps them on their journey?

And of course I am full of it myself since I have no idea what Carmelo's exact relation is to Bob or Bob's exact state of mind either so how on earth can I be sure of my opinions? Sometimes there are things only our pillow knows, while our head is resting on it.

Anyway, since I have only really met a few people here I have to continue to speak out of my ass while I figure out who the pretty asses are to kiss.....

Outstanding post, one of your best ever IMO! This post also helped clear up for me an earlier question I had about you. If people inside CoS were allowed to read this post of yours, either
disconnection in Cos would be totally cancelled or many scientologists would quickly become ex Scientologists.

The point I wanted to make, since pages back in response to Free, was that we can't judge exes if they refuse to disconnect from friends or family still in. That if Carmelo keeps his friends regardless of in or out status, so fkn what.

It just means he is a real friend.

Scientology is not the deciding factor on life choices and why should Carmelo abandon friends on the basis of what someone who is a stranger to him thinks!!! Like I care what the bus driver or the store clerk or anyone else who happens to be there thinks about who the fuck are my friends. Oh let me just drop everything and obey the opinions of people who don't even like me!


People have real reasons not to abandon their still-in family and friends.

I like the stoics.... some of them are Platonists but some are Aristotelians. And some are Christians...and some are......

It's like bloodlines. Some children look more or less like the parents.

It can't be avoided that one responds to previous philosophers and forms a family tree.

Thus the way all exes are condemned to be the children of CoS like it or not. (Including me....)
I'm not attacking it...just saying that genealogically that is how it works in philosophy and even Scientology seems to be on the smaller branches of that tree somewhere
although not the pretty branches... (in wog estimation.)

I think I learned from the time I was on lines, but I had gains, had a lot of friends etc. Too bad it was a sham, and most of my friends are sipping vintage koolaid, and not talking to me. I agree, bad word choice on my part. Basically just something one can do nothing about, like choose parents. Those are the parents.....

I will be picking up a copy of that from Amazon. I think I am of a platonist > Neoplatonist > stoic > romanticist > phenomenological > existentialist 'family' line (philosophically).

My time in Scientology was not hell either. But please....don't send me back.

Well, don't you see, all that stuff which you mentioned is stuff that I was alluding to! You're a very smart woman, I am surprised that you couldn't figure out my compliment. What did you do, take a couple of aspirins to help you sleep better. That stuff seems to be messing up your mind. For God's sake, I trying to give you a big compliment and you get anal with me.. I don't get it. I just can't figure out women. I meet a woman who seems to be logical and scientific and who can think straight and then she goes anal on me. WTF. I hope those medication wear off, I want my friend back!

Just curious. Was the 440, and 342 by different performers?

Huh? What do you mean? There are videos on Youtube where the same performer(s) play the same song, one time tuned to 440 Hz and one time tuned to 432 Hz. One cello player was especially dishonest and manipulative: He used different left and right hand techniques to make his 432 Hz version sound "sweeter".

Assigning this 432 Hz tuning any special meaning is the epitome of pretentiousness and ignorance. Really there's just no "there", there.

When I play alone, my instruments are almost always tuned to exactly 440 Hz, because that's the internationally agreed-upon norm these instruments were designed and built for. When I play with others, I tune to whatever makes the most sense. When the beautiful grand piano in the rehearsal room has lost a few Hz due to aging and bad climate, it wouldn't make sense to stubbornly insist on 440 Hz, so I whip out my digi-tuner, check that thing against it and see: Aha, piano's 15% lower than it should be (100% would be one half-tone), so I and the rest of the band tune our instruments 15% lower as well and bingo, we now have a nice, harmonic sound.

When I help other people to buy their guitar I always have a digi-tuner with me, since I know that certain dealers tune their guitars a little lower, to make them sound sweeter and seemingly easier to play. Before good, affordable digi-tuners existed, I always had my trusty 440 Hz tuning fork with me - because when a guitar sounds unbalanced, shrieky or just bad when tuned to that frequency, one better not buys that crap. It's that simple.

Yes. I (and a lot of musicians I know) have done that blind test where you compare different versions of the same music recorded at 432 vs 440. I've never known anyone to pass it (ie. guess which ones are which) on the "which version sounds best to you" test.

How about I compliment the recipe which you gave to Gizmo. I haven't made that myself but I would like to compliment you for sending him that recipe. How about a cleansing diet, I think a lot of people around here who are against me are full of fit. Maybe if you could write up a good cleansing diet I would give you an even smaller compliment.

What ever it takes to get me back in your good graces, let me know what I have to do. Is this small compliment sufficient?

PS: I forgot to tell you that I am home and just finished a a whole bottle of Merlot. You'll have to excuse me for being incoherent.

I read these Hugh Blair lectures a year or so ago. I learned more from Hugh in a few months than Hubbard in 26 years.

Of note regards language, and which correlates what you say, and Hugh's full lecture, but a snip from his lectures back in the day. I wish I could write like those old farts, LOL.

Lakey, I answered a post from someone I know zero about. I am here, on Apollo having fun. I don't know who all the posters are. I don't know your history with every poster. I have not read everything. I am not sure why my horsing around bothers anyone. I just argued with Free and that was a bit of work.
