Intuition vs. Bank (Reactive Mind)

Lately I've been thinking about how so many times in Scientology you're convinced to do something by not listening to your "bank".

Those strong feelings not to join the SO? It's just your bank. Not wanting to give $$ to the church? It's just your bank. Etc., etc.

But looking back on it now, it wasn't my bank. It was my intuition.

As a part of growing up and maturing, I've really come to trust my intuition and think it's extremely important. It's pretty scary that those feelings can be nullified as irrationalities of the reactive mind.

Well, for starters, there is no such thing as a 'reactive mind' per se, in that it's all bad and you need or would be able to get rid of it.

What you have is a subconscious mind, or an automatic consciousness, if you will.

It is programmable. Doing something over and over, like practicing a musical instrument will program it. Thinking something over and over, like reciting a dogma like a mantra will program it. No matter what he said, Laffy knew this. Remember Chinese school? Repetitive actions or thoughts will, little by little, dig themselves in deeper.

Yeah, the 'still, small voice' of intuition is influence from the other way on the scale of your consciousness.

P.S.

Could you remind me what F.O. 38 said? I probably read it, since I was in the S.O., but it was a long time ago.

I TOTALLY agree with you on trusting one's own intuition. Too many times to count, I'm glad I followed mine. Thanks for bringing this up.

This is a good post. Scientology does the exact opposite of what it promises. Yes - you do get rid of your intuition and replace it with paranoia and delusions.

This is a good post. The reactive mind is the "analytical and intuitive part of your mind that poses and solves problems.

Those still in Scientology have lost their ability to be empathetic, grieve normally, emote normal emotions and have normal reactions to life.

Yes, you do get rid of your mind that tells you when there is danger. You learn to discount, invalidate and nullify it. It is part of the brainwashing and mind control that Scientology uses to get people to give up money, family, time and life.

Uh, huh.

The Bohemian Grovers have a ritual to promote this. They call it 'The Cremation of Care'. If you can stop 'caring' you're really on your way to power! Not.

Have you read the quotes of LRH Jr. (before he was bought off) where he said his father equated his 'conscious' with 'bank'

Uh, huh.

Laffy was trying to silence the objections in his own mind to the horrendous atrocities that he was committing. Because of his 'Thelemic' training, he considered this to be his last barrier to true godhood.

All horrible lies, of course.

And what of "knowingness"? My knowingness told me that I did not need or want to be in the morgue while I was lead to believe it was bank leading me astray". Worse thing is I sort of believed it.

Love the op. Very true.

Most of elron's stuff can be turned right back against "the cherch".

Having trouble in life? PTS/SP tech! Who's the only person or bunch of people fucking with you, robbing you of your money, your health, your family, interfering with your life? Points right back to the church.

Do an admin scale or evaluation to find out what's wrong in life. If done no holds barred, full tilt boogie- will point right back to the cherch.

So, yes, if the bank is telling you to "run silent run deep" as Al Bundy has said- it's your intuition, your common sense.

It was about being polite, not rubbing each other up the wrong way, not standing in corridors or doorways so that people couldn't get past. There was other stuff too, but it was about grovelling to seniors in the right way or something like that. I liked it in as much as it always pissed me off when people chat blocking a narrow walk way and didn't notice someone was trying to get past.

What you are calling intuition I call my "gut" and in some old posts I made I said when I listened to it , it had never let me down. I feel this is one of the more damaging aspects of Scn at least for me. I feel they try to get you to betray your own personnel integrity on a regular basis and one gets to the point that they don't trust their own feelings. Some how the processing did this to me but as I refused to do much training I failed to incorporate the Scn approved point of view.

It was some long FO (Flag Order) about general rules in the SO like not putting your stuff on another's bunk, not standing in doorways/stairwells, etc. But the one point I always remember is having to refer to senior officers (male or female) as "Sir". If you didn't always say "Sir", sometimes you would be told to "Get your FO 38 in!" :)

Thank you.

Do you have any issues with your parents?

Sorry, still don't get the joke. I don't see what this thread or my FO 38 explanation has to do with my parents...

I'm was not about to ever call any female " Sir ".

Ain't my style.

Caused some problems ? Yep.

I had to ask " If you want to be called Sir does that mean you think you are a man - that's make you a lesbian, right " ?

I've nothing against my gay/lesbian friends but to ask a Sea Org asshole in a fake navy uniform ( complete with phony 'campaign' ribbons )

knowing where THEY stood on that was too much to resist.

Anyway, I respect all females too much for that kind of disrespect to them.
