On his blog, Feb 2, 2010:

The level of sadism DM had sunk to since my departure after four days into the Hole in Feb 2004 are enough to boggle any civilized mind. Not only did all of International Management (CMO INT and Exec Strata), and then CO FSO, but also the by-then holed CO FCB (Kirsti Wilhere), and President CSI (Heber Jenzscth – yes, the 75 year old plus several decade face of Scientology) were subjected to these inhumanities.

In the middle of summer 2007, when local temperature regularly rises well above 110 degrees, DM ordered the electricity in the Hole to be cut off for many days at a time. DM also ordered that the penniless Hole prisoners pay for their own food. What they paid for was, as one survivor described it, “slop” or like “gruel” Oliver Twist style. For breakfast it was only oatmeal, and all other meals were slop. Everybody had to wait in line and pay before eating. There were more than one hundred people there.

The same Korean brainwashing technique of physically forcing Holers to give confessions to the group were still going on daily; a practice DM instituted in 1998, and intensified in late 2003. Remember again, this is mid 2007.

In order to add insult to injury, DM had U Haul trucks pull up outside, and U Haul boxes brought in to let all participants know he was serious with his threats, “I’m going offload all of you.” I am sure most would gladly have been offloaded, but after several years of mind torture they no doubt understood there was no way out.

On many occasions the Holee’s were ordered to run a few hundred yards to the Cine Conference room where DM held court during event preparations. He would interrupt whatever he was doing to go out to the front lawn where the Holees had to stand for high volume toastings and severe degradation adjustments. They had to stand at attention for receipt of long, profanity laced dress downs of some or all of them depending on his mood.

"...as early as April 2010, the only significant "defector" from high up in Scientology that ever said anything or spoke out after 2009 was John Brousseau. And I arranged for John Brousseau to speak with the FBI.

And John Brousseau told the FBI, 'I have seen no violence on behalf of David Miscavige or anybody else at the upper levels of Scientology. I have seen no evidence of anything resembling this thing they called the Hole, for several, for the several years that I'd been there since most of these people left.'

None of this stuff, that was the advertised crux of the FBI investigation, existed. The only percipient witness, the only person who was in a position to know, and a position to see, who was speaking on behalf of the complainants, said, "there's no there there." And that, in effect, was the end of the FBI investigation..."

In the Tampa times piece

"Rinder and Brousseau met Whitehill at an Embassy Suites. Whitehill had a conference room ready, with Venegas on the speaker phone.

Brousseau told Whitehill he never had been hit during his three decades in the Sea Org. Nor had he been in the group forced to live in the office building derisively called "the Hole."

She seemed slightly disappointed, he said. He couldn't press charges for assault or false imprisonment.

But he had plenty more to say. A few years ago, Miscavige had directed him to install steel bars on all but one of the Hole's exit doors. The only other exit was manned round the clock by church security staffers."

According to this Brousseau himself hadn't been assaulted or imprisoned in the Hole, logically he then couldn't press charges for something that didn't happen to him? He also said that the Holees would not admit to being beaten or imprisoned. Not quite a slam dunk.

I don't know how many people who have anything to say about his videos have tried to post, but there's little to no doubt he isn't going to let them through.

I don't remember if it was here or on Tony's blog that someone said that it's always "my way or the highway" with Marty, but it's pretty much true.

Even before he "turned", he never did take opposing views well on his blog. And don't forget that he posted one post here, then never responded to anyone's questions or comments.

So don't hold your breath waiting for a dialog. Not gonna happen.

It's like deja vu from when Marty had his blog less than a year and attacked the Aussies' hardline exposure of the Church of Scientology's crimes, wanting a softer approach. It didn't go down well with anybody then, either.

As Marty moves on to Leah and the troika, he now says the ASC bible has authors. I thought Going Clear was the ASC bible, as written by Wright. Maybe he means Gibney and Wright?

Didn't Rinder work for a time selling an ice-making device for hospitals, for a company which was owned by a former Scientologist? Marty claims Rinder hasn't had a single job since he left Scientology that wasn't related to anti-Scientology projects, and he's just been sliding on gifts from wealthy ex-Scientologists or making money on the ASC circuit. Also, when Rinder first left, I think he got a job selling Toyotas in Buffalo, NY. He did that for a few months, at least.

Again, the stuff Marty is saying is made particularly bizarre by what he's not saying. After years of bashing Miscavige, he doesn't say a damn thing about him, whether his feelings have changed or are still the same, and why. The same is true for his criticism of Hubbard and Scientology -- no mention where he stands on that and where this is all coming from, this unique focus on the critics of Scientology, including some people who used to be sort of his friends, or who trusted him and sometimes were helped by him.

When he talks about Leah, he mentions her series, but fails to mention she wrote a best-selling book which was about her life and experiences in Scientology. Does he now believe ex-members should not be allowed to do that, or that doing that is wrong?

He's in this attack-only mode, as if he's some world-recognized authority on the life and work of L. Ron Hubbard, as well as a new topic, the critics of Scientology.

Except for the things which are not being said, this is the first video which is so strange I'm thinking it's possible Marty is going off the deep end, and not being paid.

Another possible purpose of Miscavige emerges a little more strongly though. He would like to divide critics, make them wary of confiding in each other for fear of being betrayed (in the manner Marty is betraying people who trusted him) and then see criticism of Scientology crumble. Xenu only knows why Marty would care about that. And it's not going to happen because of this. This just makes Marty look bad, so if that is what it is supposed to do, mission accomplished.
