Leah/Mike/Tony. I think he really needs a quadoika because he bashes Wright for 20 vids but then reveals the unholy troiika is Ortega, Remini, and Rinder.

He keeps referring to them as a cluster. Maybe they're stuck to him.

The Going Clear videos were bizarre nit-picking. His two "Leah Remini and her Troublemakers" vids are really quite different. Direct personal attacks, attempting to sow discord among the "troika", revealing of supposedly private (but likely imagined) conversations, accusing Ortega of laughing off attempted murder, accusing Rinder sponsoring hate crimes, derisively cackling at his perceived enemies, etc.

He criticizes Karen de la Carriere but doesn't have the cajones to call her by name in this series, perhaps because he feels guilty.

I'm still wondering if there is anyone on the other side of the camera.

Awfully quiet. Just to make things less awkward in my head I try to imagine it's a teddy bear.

So I am going to reveal a thing or 2.

Marty’s actions were always inexplicable. He accepted money from people, shamelessly from the whole Indie field. I recall one time giving him $3000 in cash in $100 bills and he looked disappointed telling me someone visited him for a day and left $7000 on the bedside table in the guest room....

Marty was always above the LAW even LAWS are pretty ironclad within the Sea Org. Normally when someone blows the Sea Org, the only route back is the RPF, but normally its an automatic DECLARE.

Not for Marty. Miscavige got Marty back by bribing (rewarding) him with a 2-year paid vacation to the Freewinds where Marty was allowed to study any LRH materials he wanted. He didn’t even have to do any courses. He just did whatever he pleased and then started auditing celebrities. (Tom Cruise etc.) He was treated like almost a God on Freewinds...after blowing the Sea org !

Again, in early 2004 when DM tried to put Marty into the Hole, Marty didn’t do anything to take DM off post or protect staff or public. He just took off (blew) because he wasn’t going to be punished. But it was totally okay with him to leave everyone else imprisoned and being tortured with their lives being destroyed.

Marty wasn’t just trying to bring justice by exposing DM’s abuses because he let his evidence trickle out slowly, to create drama. He had everyone on the edge of their seat awaiting his next big revelation. That’s the not “let’s expose DM and protect people” it’s the Marty Show with him playing up the drama by slowly, methodically parsing out (getting off) DM’s crimes for maximum profit for Marty

Research was done by others to help Marty stop the seige. Ruben, a 26 year police commander with special FBI training by invitation only, a police instructor and responder to active shooters and terrorism #2 security over MLB (Major Baseball league and currently #2 man over security for all 45 University of Texas Campuses, came to the big Indie party near Houston In 2011. I spent almost a day with him, more than I spent with any of the Indies. Marty would not give him the time of day or talk to him or listen for one second.

It was discovered Marty himself was tying the hands of law enforcement by telling them specifically that he was NOT in fear for his life. The coaching given was that the Squirrel Busters COULD HAVE BEEN ARRESTED if he said the magic phrase "I am in fear of my life" and it would all have been over. but Marty did not WANT want help to fix it, he wanted to keep it going as long as possible to be the big star survivor of the "ferocious" assault. And the Top blog of the day while we all held on for the next big revelation.

I personally think it's fine for anyone with detailed knowledge of Marty's history, such as Karen, to fill in some details. It adds some context to Marty's behavior, and let's admit it, we all wouldn't be on this thread (which has over 48,000 views in two weeks!) if we weren't interested.

None of US believe him. However, it may be the case that other people who discover the topic of Scientology for or the first time -- perhaps through Season 2 of Leah Remini: Scientology of the Aftermath -- WILL believe him if not presented with point-for-point (or "tit for tat") refutation. (There are still many, many people who have NO knowledge about Scientology.) The sad truth is unrefuted lies, misrepresentations and omissions are often believed by people, or at least some small but significant percentage of people, who don't know any better.

I very strongly disagree that Mike Rinder's and John Brousseau's responses are preferable. Those responses are fine for them, personally, but they do not really serve the purpose of refuting lies, misrepresentations and omissions that may snare or fool the less knowledgeable.

I have and still wonder why certain words are used for disparagement, that otherwise could be used as words of endearment. I brought this up in a previous post (too long ago to try to locate it now.) I was invited to call a person a "dick." My response was something like "I have a dick and rather like it. Why would I try to insult someone by calling them "a dick?"

I bring this up because I do, so, want to break that idea now!

There is a crude word for the female genitalia that, in the vernacular, lends itself to be used for disdain. I hesitate because of my appreciation for what it represents...

I hear you and prior to him (in this last few weeks) going out of his way to prove to the world that he is a thoroughly nasty piece of work I would have agreed with you ... I was (and still am) quite happy for him to receive money from the cofs (I hope he sends them broke!) and when it became clear that he was no longer friendly with certain people I admit that I thought it best if ESMB kept well out of it (there are always two sides and people often become friends again once the dust settles) ... but Marty Rathbun is now seriously attempting to discredit some very good people who are exposing the cult of con for us and potential future victims, why would anyone want to do that?

He has every right to his personal opinions but he is now trying to use them to focus attention on pointless, mindless TRIVIA, he's attempting to muddy the water when the war is clearly being won, why???

I was wrong about Marty Rathbun ... even when these videos came out I honestly thought he had completely lost it, was "unwell" ... gone completely mad, and (though I don't want to go down the path of discussing someones possible mental health) something still makes me think that may be the case ... but the unpalatable alternative is that he's just being the person he has always been, a trained and vicious attack dog and sadly that's looking far more likely.

He could have achieved the same result (money) without being an arse and attacking old friends like Mike and Karen as well as Leah, Louis Theroux, Tony Ortega, Lawrence Wright and others and (as lovely as it would be not to resort to flinging shit back at him) I now hope that any information or stories that come out make him cringe and want to crawl under a rock with embarrassment, which doesn't in any way mean that it's enjoyable to watch, because it isn't ... it's quite sad and it was unnecessary.
